I noticed that even before the election there were not many messiah lawn signs and bumper stickers as compared to 4 years ago. I live in Liberal Massachusetts and found it odd. I’m not so sure these libs are as hyped as the MSM leads us to believe......
Most of the B [end] O [ver] signs and bumper stickers in our area are GONE. There are a few stickers still on cars here.
I was talking to one lady [I know she is a bleeding heart liberal] and she is already PO'ed at the way BO is changing his tune about the "changes" with all the inside the beltway libs on his cabinet.
The damn Kerry and Gore signs stayed up until they rotted.
There are MORE kerry / edwards bumper stickers on cars here than bend over stickers.
Depends what you mean. The signs are down, but there are laws that affect some of that, and most people do that for every election. The bumper stickers seem to be increasing. There is also an increase in Obama icons on personal web pages.
It’s almost like the reverse Bradley Effect.
Now back to the question at hand, almost all signs come down the day after the binge but just before the hangover starts to really set in. It seems to be a tradition here. There were not a lot of K’wanza signs in Eureka
No, I think they are being snapped up to build the in-home shrine. The bloom is not yet off the messiah. We’re still building to the climax on Jan 20th. That will be a good day to lay low. As with New year’s eve in Greater Miami, citizens will be well advised to stay indoors and, if possible, wear kevlar.
They are coming down, slowly in our area. But, the darn bumperstickers are everywhere.
Soon “Don’t blame me, I voted for Sarah” signs and bumper stickers will be popping up everywhere.
Just waiting for the shrines to be built now. Probably add-ons to the mosques.
Yer right. I’ve been noting some leftover McCain signs ... but NO Obama signs _anywhere_.
Happy birthday!
I noticed a curious thing regarding signs and I posted it here a week or so ago. There were scarce few O signs in my neighborhood to begin with and they are all gone.
However, a lot of us still have our McCain/Palin signs out. Isn’t that interesting? I think it’s like some silent support network, or a smattering of solidarity.
I think many liberals kept their Gore and Kerry signs and bumper stickers up way after their losses because they viewed Bush’s presidency as illegitimate because of Florida in 2000. They thought that somehow, in ways nobody would ever know, Bush really lost and Gore really won. Therefore, since his 2000 victory was illegitimate, so was his 2004 victory, and they kept their signs and bumper stickers up as a show of spite.
But now, Bush is out, and Obama clearly won a majority, and so there’s no need to be spiteful in that way anymore. There are other ways to be.
I still see cars with Kerry stickers. If someone is intellectually lazy enough to vote for these schmucks then it would follow that they’re too dull to remove their signs and stickers.
Good idea.
Yesterday I was at an undisclosed location (NOT Eugene), a real redneck town in a real redneck county full of real rednecks, looking at a new opportunity and various homes. I was pleased to see very few of those offending stickers & signs. Hopefully things will work out.
Happy birthday Grampa Dave (I'm a grampa Dave too)!
One of my neighbors must be a rabid fan — they had FOUR signs in their yard! (They are on a corner lot, so they got us from two sides!) After the election, they put blue and white balloons on the signs for about a week. Now, the signs are in their windows!! I wonder how long they will keep the signs up. Happy B-Day!!
The nut job down my street ( MIHOP-Ron Paul supporter) had switched to Obama after the primary. He still has a huge home made sign in his yard, printed on the back of a Diocese of St. Augustine Banner. he plastered the phone pole near my driveway with home made "Republicans for Obama" signs which have faded into purple Rorschach tests in the recent rain...
