President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team is showing its hostility toward lawful firearm owners by “weeding out” job applicants who own firearms themselves, a Second Amendment group says.

I doubt this report. It makes little pragmatic sense. Firearms owners, especially those who have developed a level of skill tend to be sharp in many respects, have focus and health, and have a degree of situational awareness, and tend to be cool in a crisis. They are likely to be among the better employees.

You make assumptions, huh? Just because I defend a smoker's right to choose whether or not to smoke does NOT imply that I am a smoker. I am not. If you weren't a n00b maybe you would have read enough threads on Free Republic to know that Conservatives are not in favor of Nanny States. And you sound like a nanny. Smokers have the same rights as non-smokers.

I also noted that there are cigarettes manufactured which do not impart the aroma of smoke on oneself or nearby items. BTW, there's a wealth of knowledge out there if you care to do some research before you "speak" online.

This thread is about Obama's screening criteria and background checks, and the potential elimination of applicants based upon gun ownership. What do smokers or your anti-smoker opinion have to do with it?
