Today is the 100th Birthday of Senator Joe McCarthy of Wisconsin, a great American patriot who was vilified and condemned for his warnings of Communist infiltration of our government. Today, his warnings ring just as true.

Hang in there, Retired Army. I hear what you are saying and your statements have merit. But it is not lost. Not yet. And I’m not giving in.

Oh, I will never surrender. There are no french flags at my house. Only Old Glory is on my flag pole. Not the stinking french white flag. The Muzzie flag will never fly here either or the hammer and sickle of the Soviets. They will not get my guns either. I have been buying ammo and got a new AR 15. The ONLY way I give them up is like my president, President Heston said, from my cold dead hand. That is the only way. I was born a free man, I will die a free man. I REFUSE to be a prisoner to these thugs.

THANK you Syncro, for an excellent post, filled with irrefutable fact, and we can all thank Ann Coulter for having the courage to champion Senator Joe McCarthy long after his passing, and long after 'official' Washington began to pretend that he never existed.
One unlikely and surprising fact is that the McCarthy and Kennedy families were quite close, and in a demonstration of a broken clock being right at least once in a while, noneother than Pat Buchanan had this to say:
"America's young should ask themselves: If Joe McCarthy was such a monster, why did Joe Kennedy back him, the Kennedy girls date him, Robert Kennedy work for him and JFK defend him as a "great patriot" in his year of censure? And why was McCarthy asked to be the godfather to Bobby Kennedy's firstborn?"
Proving that even Joe, John and Bobby (not to mention Pat Buchanan, lol) had SOME redeeming character traits. ;)

God Bless you Sir, it would be my honor and privilege to one day stand shoulder to shoulder with you if the Communist/Islamic hordes are bearing down on us.
Just be careful and don’t install one of those easily found full-auto conversion kits on your new AR-15, I’d hate to see you get into any trouble. ;)

I agree completely! Some of our enemies are on this board trying to corrupt our very ideology. McCarthy was right... we have the enemy within. Happy 100th birthday to the Senator McCarthy... a great American hero.

Naw, don't need any rock and roll. Empties the magazine too quickly. All you have too do is rapid fire your trigger finger if you need more rounds down range. Proper sight picture, squeeze and let it go. Thankfully my ole pappy taught me too shoot at a very young and tender age, and my Uncle Sam taught me how to fight and shoot at the same time. Even sent me too a little on the job training in the Central Highlands of Vietnam to sharpen those skills!!

In Christopher Andrews and Vasily Mitrokhin’s “The Mitrokhin Archive,” a history of Cold War espionage written on the basis of internal KGB documents copied by Vasily Mitrokhin during his tenure as chief archivist at the KGB (he was exfiltrated by the British in the 90s), the KGB notes that at his peak, McCarthy so discredited anti-Soviet vigilance in the US and anti-Communist sentiment in general that he could not have been more valuable to the Soviets had he been an actual KGB spy. Think about that—McCarthy did more to extend covert Soviet action on US territory than all the KGB’s spies put together. His intentions may have been patriotic, but the result of his actions was to compromise US security. Ordinarily, that’s called treason.
To: vkladchik
No, the result of the un-American Democrat Liberal Traitors compromised security.
Yes, it was treasonous on the part of the partisan government officials
They should have worked with him instead of vilifying him.
More of the same, only worse on the way.

Here in the ugly blue stain of Wisconsin there was talk today of getting out the dusty bust made for him that’s hidden under a tarp in the basement of the Historical Society - maybe in a couple years - so the radio did say.
What a patriot we had!!! Screw the Commies and their dupes!

It’s the KGB who said, in their own internal documents, that McCarthy was a boon to their operations. It doesn’t get much more damning than that.
To: mkjessup
Happy birthday to one of the political giants of the 20th century, and the singlemost unfairly maligned figure in American politics.

Oh, yeah - the KGB - that paragon of discernment. I’ll not allow the KGB to write his epitaph, because Joe acted with urgency and experience in overturning the rocks those worms crawled under.

A common KGB practice. Spread disinformation which states the exact opposite.
The fact is, McCarthy was 100 percent correct about the Communist infiltration of the United States Government.
You come along as a n00b poster, trying to discredit that.
You're as transparent as freshly Windexed glass, TROLL.
GTF outta here.

The leftists and closet Commies in Wisconsin are still pissed off at McCarthy for whipping their beloved Robert La Follette Jr. by 5000 votes in the GOP primary, La Follette was a RINO's RINO, supporting FDR, forming the 'Progressive' Party of Wisconsin, and in fact had four subversive Communist agents serving on his own so-called 'Civil Liberties Committee' (that tidbit straight from the Venona Project).
What a patriot we had!!! Screw the Commies and their dupes!
We've got a Commie and/or a dupe right here in this thread and only a blind man could fail to 'pin the pinko ribbon on the n00b', if you catch my drift? ;)

You’re right. Soviet disinformation was very common in the US during the Cold War, and even made its way into pop culture (e.g., that whole story about J. Edgar Hoover being a cross-dresser was Soviet disinformation). In this case, however, the source of the glowing assessment of McCarthy is internal KGB memos, etc.; i.e., not disinformation.
