LINCOLN, Neb. The mother was running out of more than patience when she abandoned her 18-year-old daughter at a hospital over the weekend under Nebraska's safe-haven law. She was also running out of time: She knew that state lawmakers would soon meet in a special session to amend the ill-fated law so that it would apply to newborns only.
"Where am I going to get help if they change the law?" said the mother...
To the state's surprise and embarrassment, more than half of the 31 children legally abandoned under the safe-haven law since it took effect in mid-July have been teenagers...

Maybe the law needs to be revised so the kids whose parents would abandon them could just drop off their parents at the police department... I'm just sayin'!

The mother was running out of more than patience when she abandoned her 18-year-old daughter at a hospital In my house, if my 18 year old daughter does not live up to the standards in the house, she's out of here. I don't need to drop her off at any hospital. (Fortunately, my girls are all wonderful conservatives, albeit a bit flakey at times....)

I dropped mine off at the recruiter's office. They had a choice. They could pick which recruiter's office I dropped them at. ;)

Some one abandoned an 18 year old daughter? I got married at 19! Was the poor girl hopelessly retarded?

LOL. I wanted to do the same with my 15 year old. He has since made it to 19 successfully.

I guess these “parents” must think it works like leaving your pet at the pound. On the other hand, I suppose it makes a pretty good threat for mouthy teens: “Either you shape up, or I’ll drop you off at the hospital.”

“I need to move to Nebraska...”
The state of Nebraska has ruined the family with my grandchildren. They have single-handedly destroyed a very faith driven household and judges who think they are god won’t even let us foster care our own grandchildren where we live in Florida. Seven months and counting of this charade.
If I want to kitty up $5000 for counsel, they may fix it in 6 months. Sounds like extortion as in the Chicom adoptions.
To: Gordon Greene
The mom was mad because her daughter had just voted for McCain.
