Yesterday, a false report was posted with an "apology" from GA Rep. Paul Broun. Broun is the Congressman who called Obama a "Marxist" and warned of Hitler-like "dictatorship."
Hume reported the false apology story which was also picked up in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, then they corrected by posting Broun's remarks DENYING any apology or recant of the "Marxist" charges.
Hume has been caught not keeping up with Broun's official comments and broadcasting misinformation.

I suspect Hume will retract. He’s about as good as it gets these days.
Is there any serious, honest news on the teeheevee anymore? I quit watching ca. 1981 when it was evident there wasn't.
I seldom if ever have FOX on anymore...except for Greta. I use to enjoy Special Report but after the last presidential debate, I gave up on them. Haven’t watched since.
If they would watch closelyer (I like that word) they would be able to keep up.
Most of Fox are not “clearly truthful reporters”, only Kelly and Hannity are going to give you all of it.
As for Hume (not that he is one), the left will need “disinformation specialists” like the ones they have used for last four years to target Bush, so they could use him as springboard to win election....and it obviously worked.
Marxism/communism requires that there are “disinformation journalists, radio hosts, and newspapers” to do the propaganda...they focus on the issue that they are to implant (brainwash) the public with, and pretend they aren’t leftist...so watch out, it will get pretty crowded out there.
I completely agree that FNC has proven themselves not to be "serious, honest news." (e.g. Carl Cameron and his anonymous sources on Palin and Africa.) However, what you and I have figured out is not what many others have determined yet. What's important is that if a Congressional member sends a warning then a false retraction appears - and he denies the false retraction - the people determine Broun to be discredited.
I intent to remind him of his journalist obligations for retraction.

Maybe Hume and Cameron should revisit their Journalism 101 classes, where they were (supposedly) taught about fact-checking.
Or the can just proceed to show they’re no better than the competition...
Agreed. I just plan to ensure that Mr. Hume knows he's being monitored. It would be sad to see him soil an otherwise respected journalistic career prior to his pending FNC retirement.
Perhaps if they continued FR monitoring they wouldn't make amateur mistakes like this one.
...I thought FR was the harbinger of the truth, after 11-04-08. FNC, and any news channel couldn’t be trusted to report the truth, or disseminate the lies of the opposition. Whooow is me, I don’t know what the truth is any more...

If you were born in Italy, of Italian parents, studied at a Catholic Seminary then were mentored by a Roman Catholic Bishop, then did missionary work in the slums and followed that by surrounding yourself with Catholics as life long friends, what religion would you suppose you were?

Amen. Same thing here. Sad to say I gave up on Brit and FOXNEWS as well... Maybe I’ll check back in January after Brit has retired to see if there’s any reason to watch again.
Same here. Stopped watching after the last debate. I wonder if their ratings have taken a dive?
