ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) Just as Sen. Ted Stevens appeared ready to take his criminal record back to Congress perhaps opening a door for Gov. Sarah Palin to replace him his re-election bid faltered.
Democrat Mark Begich, who trailed Stevens by more than 3,200 votes to start the day Wednesday, jumped to an 814-vote lead as state officials resumed their count of early and absentee ballots. The tally late Wednesday was 132,196 to 131,382, with an estimated 30,000 ballots remaining to be counted, some on Friday and some next week.
"After watching the votes today, I remain cautiously optimistic," Begich, a two-term Anchorage mayor, said in a news release. "We ran an aggressive campaign, especially when it came to early voting and absentee."

With online voting, there would be the "screen shot". With proof, now we have something that can be paid for. Makes it easy to buy and sell votes.
No thanks, not interested anymore.
“The PROBLEM is that all the newly found ballots are for the Dem and they are being “found” in the back seats of cars and in districts that are 98% Dem.”
At this point, I think it may actually be best if they get their 60 votes in the Senate so they can’t blame the Republicans for anything. It’s not like Specter, Snowe, Collins, and some of the other RINOs in there are going to use the filibuster to do anything important like block liberal judicial nominees, so will this really make any difference?
I suppose that I'm not computer savvy enough to understand "screen shot" and buying and selling votes...
My point was concerning 'security' as it now is on-line with what I described in my reply.
I was trying to make a point that there must be a more secure way to register voters with a valid and secure "Voter ID" even if it requires a photo, signature and fingerprints and if you have to get it at the DMV or Post Office or Courthouse...
That Voter ID would be swiped like a credit card at a polling place that would allow one to vote, but then, there and nowhere else. I though that same card could be used on-line the same as in a bank transaction or credit card purchase... Does this mean that my on-line banking and credit card purchases have a "screen shot" "With proof, now they would know something can be paid for. Makes it easy to buy and sell..." What regarding my banking or purchases? My understanding here fails.
Bottom line though: NO reform is going to be made anyway. Am I wrong? Then, what about after 2000, 2004, 2006...this year? Voters don't want to have to produce valid ID, photo ID, nada...it's discriminatory, disenfranchisement...blah, blah, blah...therefore, judge or Sec. State rules none needed and there you go: FRAUD and it will continue. It's to the Democrats advantage to have have the dead, animals, illegals, criminals, homeless, Disney characters and Cowboys lineup to vote early and vote often.
Note that the Democrats come from behind late in all of these close races. They have to give them time to slip in all of the fraudulent ACORN votes. It happened in Oregon for Senator where they counted the biggest county last, as well as, in Minnesota, Alaska, Georgia and the Presidential race for Virginia. In the 2004 Governor’s race in Washington, they kept re-counting their biggest county until the Democrat had won.
Point # 1: More registered dims doesn't equate to more voting dims and
Point # 2: 38 votes in the trunk of a car leads me to believe one person may have voted 39 times.
ummmm...you're turn
DOn’t overlook a couple of other facts.
The DEMS dropped 5 Million in attack ads on Ted and Don. 5 Million for a state with a population smaller than Tucson Az (a nice place to be usre).
The DEMS sent some very high power ‘organizers’ up here so the yokels could do something right for a change.
THe (R) party was its own worst enemy.....
A RINO is so much worse than a Dem. At least a Dem won't sincerely call you their friend.
