GOP to file suit to undo McCain rules
The Washington Times ^ | 11/13/08 | Ralph Hallow

The Republican Party will file federal lawsuits Thursday seeking to overthrow the McCain-Feingold federal campaign finance regulations, Republican National Committee Chairman Robert M. "Mike" Duncan revealed Wednesday night at a private dinner with the nation's Republican governors.

The move is considered a slap in the face of the Republican Party's failed 2008 presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who was dramatically outspent by Democrat Barack Obama, and of President Bush, who signed McCain-Feingold into law in 2002.

"We will bring two federal suits tomorrow to strengthen the Republican Party," Mr. Duncan told The Washington Times.

Mr. Duncan said one suit will be filed in the District of Columbia to strike down the soft-money ban that is the central tenet of the McCain-Feingold Act — formally known as the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002. "Soft money" is largely unrestricted contributions from wealthy individuals, corporations and labor unions.

The second suit will be in a Louisiana federal court to strike down the limits under the law Mr. McCain co-sponsored with Sen. Russ Feingold, Wisconsin Democrat, that control coordination between parties and their candidates.

"It prohibits us from spending over $84,000 in coordination with a candidate in a congressional race," Mr. Duncan said. "That means we have to find some group to raise and spend money but without any coordination" with the candidate, his campaign or the RNC.

Wrong! We’ve been plenty *nice* to McQueeg. It’s time for him to be *nice* to Conservatives.

Sounds good - I hope they prevail. I have to admit finding it rather ironic that one of the reasons McCain didn’t get more traction was because he didn’t have enough funds due to his own stupid law....

If Gingrich doesn’t want the RNC Chair, I wonder if DeLay would accept the offer. Has anyone even asked him?

“I don’t see anyone trying to prevent another 2008.
Our NH and FL FRiends need to get off the computer and get on state gop activities.
I will get involved”

I told my wife a similar thing. I’m not going to sit around and let the “citizens” be uniformed any more. I’ve had it.

I swerve a little off your path at this point. I think it is time to take it to the streets. 1st stop; the steps of the Capital building. We need to block the entrance to that damn place until the message is clear that the $700 billion “rescue” IOU is taken back out of the box. We’re being screwed so badly. Every loser in this country is angling to get as much of that $$$ as they can.

This shit has got to stop and we’re it folks -—nobody else is gonna do it.

“Good start.

Next, get rid of motor voter and same day register / vote scams.”

Dream on. You don’t get rid of tenants of the Rat power when you are out of power. It is the right thing to do but the Right is in no position to make it happen.

Lol, bringing out the old files now to add to the new. Looks good.

Someone told me I could delete all my old Hillary gifs and I said, no she’ll be around in one way or another. Obama’s ‘change’ seems to be bringing back all the old Clinton crowd.

McCain did himself in it seems, in many ways.

[They never go away]

Lol, you're right. All the ‘oldies’ are being revived for obama’s administration and now the illegal issue is coming up again.

I need to do some ‘altering’ of some old animation.

After what Emperor Barry did with campaign financing and spending enough funds that are more than some countries do for this election, it is the only thing to do or take out the loopholes and leave no exceptions or choices.

Wish to heck that the money I donated to McCain to try and get he and Palin elected was now available to go specifically to the RNC effort to overthrow McCain/Feingold.
