It’s amazing how we had everything all wrapped up so neatly and then managed to flounder it and pass programs like No Child Left Behind and Medicare Part D.

Federal spending increased from 1.9 trillion to over 3 trillion under Bush, NOT including the bailouts right? I used to think that the debt clock reaching 10 trillion was not a problem to be worried about for another few years at least. That was less than 6 months ago and we’ve gone well past 10 trillion.

And you’re not including all of the obligations he’s rung up that aren’t in that debt (e.g., promised veterans benefits, etc.)

The GOP has shot them through the roof, too!
