In an uncredited episode of The Twilight Zone, James Carville was just on the phone with CNN News regarding the trial balloon from The One's campaign that Bill Richardson -- arguably the biggest doofus ever to hold a Cabinet seat -- may be Obama's Secretary of State.
Richardson gives incompetent political hackery a bad name. As Clinton's Secretary of Energy, he allowed nuclear material to go missing on a regular basis while doing everything he could to hurt the domestic nuclar power industry. As a US Congressman he was informally voted Second Dumbest Member of Congress (after Joe Kennedy). He is a stone racist and an advocate of Open Borders.

I would rather have seen Lugar, then he would be out of the senate and hopefully replaced with someone better. But I would have been surprised if that high of a position didn’t go to a Dem.
So who is the lt. gov. in NM? I assume it is another Dem. who will run for a full term in 2010, when Richardson would have been term limited anyway.
On a side note, Republicans could do well in ‘10 picking up a lot of governorships in states where Dems elected in 2002 can’t run again. Especially Kansas, where the wretched Gov Sebelius can’t run. Also TN, OK, WY, AZ. What about Granholm in MI? Anyone know if she is limited to 8 years?
