The best thing to do is let them fall. If they were horses, we’d have to shoot them.............

I hope all of you union workers are happy now. Destroy the very companies that gave you jobs. Oh well.

the airlines offered a service- flying for business or pleasure. The cost of that service was a couple hundred or couple thousand dollars

GM offers an expensive product line, it takes many people 5 years or more to pay for it - and there are far cheaper alternatives known as “used cars”, or even “mass transit”

big difference

Bailing out just delays the inevitable.

Let them reorganize and get some concessions from the union which will help them have a chance to actually be a profitable enterprise.

If as a business you think the governement will bail you out when things get tough then you never really have to manage the company to make a profit.

Let them go Chapter 11. It will force them to make the cuts they haven’t had the stones to do up until now.

They want the money to pay for pension and health care obligations.

This is just not fair. Our 401K has lost about 30% in the past year and our health insurance just creeps up and up. And what’s going to happen is O is going to raise our taxes to bailout the irresponsible. How are we going to put money in our own pensions and buy our own health care?

There are getting to be way too many people in the lifeboat - way too many people.

If GM were to truly fail, that would be the end of American manufacturing.

We’ve already sent most all our manufacturing to China.

(cheered on by “free trade” so-called conservatives)

We now increasingly make nothing, save nothing, and pay foreigners for what we need.

Maybe if they didn't spend so many years producing a large stable of generally crappy cars, they wouldn't be in this mess.

it was only a few months ago that i was attacked by a fellow freeper and reported to jim robinson for criticizing gm!

i made the point that all three auto makers ignored w edwards deming. later the japanese auto makers absorbed his advice and became what they are today.

I just heard on Fox that other car companies in the US, like Toyota, are doing very well because they're not union.

I have mixed feelings about helping them out as I presently hold stock in Ford and GM which at the time isn’t worth a
pinch of goose $hit.

Here’s the thing I don’t get....they want $25BILLION to fund the healthcare of retired workers....so we take that tax money from working people...many WITHOUT healthcare and give to the the ‘lucky dems” that voted for Obama.

Oh God I hate this admistration so much already.

And since this really torques me off, I'll post it here, too. From 2005....

Jobs bank programs -- 12,000 paid not to work Big 3 and suppliers pay billions to keep downsized UAW members on payroll in decades-long deal.

Sure, let's subsidize that.

SNORT.
