It's all in the timing. If before the Electoral College meets Obama is rule ineligible than his electors are free to vote for anybody (Hillary?).

If after than the House must vote on the top 3 receiving votes from the Electoral College. If only Obama was voted by the democrat electors than McCain wins by default. The only out would if the democrats saw this as a real possiblity than all they would need is an elector to vote for other than Obama.
