Georgia Democrats attack the comments made by Congressman Paul Broun of Athens.
Broun has been calling the President-elect a Marxist... and warned he would form a domestic security force like Hitler did.
A Democratic party spokesman calls the comments ridiculous and undignified.
He says Broun is proving to be part of an extremist political fringe.
Of course, that's what Republicans said about Rep. Cynthia McKinney a few years back.
She generated national headlines when she claimed that President Bush may have been in on the 9-11 attacks.
Rep. Broun raised eyebrows with his comments at a civic luncheon.
And he backed them up in an interview with the Associated press.
Here is that article:
WASHINGTON (AP) A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist dictatorship.
"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "I'm just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may may not, I hope not but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism."

The Marxist-elect. I like the title.
Stating the obvious now places someone on an extremist political fringe?
Truth is hard to handle when your greatest dream is based on a lie.
"Republicans join Democrats in denouncing Broun's comments....Representative Chris Shays of CT was especially harsh..."
On the good news ledger, it is now ex-congressman Chris Shays
John McCain will denounce his comments and kick him off of his team.
Lord, he could have waited until after the run-off. The Obama campaign is sending advisors to GA to help Martin. I am worried this might be something they can exploit.
It is only exploitable if the GOP does not have the back bone to call the marxist a marxist. Had Mccain done so, with force, vigor, record and history, Obama would have been trounced.
The article has a poll on the ‘controversy’ that needs freeping.
We need to stand by this guy and not let them demolish him. Is Rush or Sean playing the video where Obama said exactly what Broun warned? Has Fox News played the video?
The left will start the misinformation campaign. Someone needs to repeatedly ask them what Obama was trying to do with this civilian army.
Could we stop playing defense just once? If they want to make Obama’s personal army a talking point, let’s oblige them. Why does he think he needs it? And with all our financial problems we have, how can he even mention something like this that would decimate our country’s military funding unless he is thinking of his own agenda.
Broun’s not really so radical, just pointing out the obvious.
One thing the Libs have down pat, the best defense is an offense.
Thanks, Just voted.
EVERYONE, GO VOTE IN THE POLL AT THE ARTICLE WEBSITE!!!
I praise Broun for speaking the truth: BROUN for Minority Leader?
When has the GOP ever had any backbone when it came to standing up to the Democrats.
The man spoke the truth. but he is going to be in trouble for it. If not prosecuted.
GOOD Idea!
There are democrats in my state? Where is my broom? Must have crossed over through the swamp from Florida. Either that or they stowed away on some flight through Hartsfield. Did they give a name?
Juan McCain will no doubt attempt to get this congress critter censured as soon as possible.
It was a nasty bit coming out of the mouth of Father Hume.
Now that Brit is leaving, he's beginning to out himself. Of course, after his "retirement", Hume will be back on the tube regularly commenting on epic events ....imitating the same dulcet commentaries we get from the onmipresent, ever-hovering Count Tom Browkula.
Even silver stakes won't be enough to keep these two iconic senior statesmen....oops, senior news-readers from their appointed rounds.

I haven’t watched Brit’s show since the las presidential debate. I can’t stand any of them.
