You know, it's interesting. The findings of neuroscience have confirmed what sages have said for centuries: that every sin, vice, or weakness has both an "inborn" and a "behavioral" component. Some people have a genetic tendency toward aggressiveness, others toward sloth. Some are by innate temperament extra-irascible, and others extra-lustful or extra-gluttonous.
Though it's far from proven, it wouldn't surprise me at all if there were indeed some inborn tendency to same-sex attraction.
That doesn't mean "I'm gay, I'm OK, 'cause God made me that way." That means: "Welcome to the human race. You're flawed. And so are the rest of us."
Christianity has a highly realistic approach toward this innately-flawed business. The flaw is called "original sin," the condition is considered universal, and the solution is, you need to be born again.
This is Basic Christianity 101. Anybody should know this.
We don't "affirm" each other in our flaws, our twisted tendencies, our brokenness. Wr acknowledge our problem. We pray for the grace, through Almighty God, to pursue the battle and "carry our cross" every day of our lives, to be freed from our sinful tendencies and live a new life, one which is pure, God-pleasing, and blameless.
Excellent post.
We’re all born sinners. Thus, one can say we all have inborn tendency toward sin. If some have an inborn tendency toward homosexuality, that just supports the Biblical view. That’s why homosexuals need Jesus, as do we all.
Good post..............
