BUSH ANGER: OBAMA AIDES LEAK CHAT DETAILS
Drudge Report ^ | 11/11/2008 | Drudge

Just hours after President Bush and President-elect Obama met in the Oval Office of the White House, details of their confidential conversation began leaking out to the press, igniting anger from the president, sources claim.

"Senator Obama would be wise to keep close counsel," a top Bush source warned.

"BUSH AND OBAMA AT ODDS OVER AID FOR AUTO INDUSTRY," splashed the NEW YORK TIMES in an exclusive Monday evening, quoting "people familiar with the discussion."

The two met at the White House in private, without staff.

"Bush indicated at the meeting that he might support some aid and a broader economic stimulus package if Obama and congressional Democrats dropped their opposition to a free-trade agreement with Colombia," claimed the TIMES.

The ASSOCIATED PRESS quickly followed with details of the conversation, citing "aides who described the discussion on grounds of anonymity, citing the private nature of the meeting."

Bush advisers view the leaks as an effort to undermine the president's remaining days in office.

"Senator Obama may not be familiar with a long-standing tradition of presidents holding their private conversations, private," a senior adviser explained to the DRUDGE REPORT.

President Bush was in front of White House reporters every day for eight years. They just chose not to let viewers, listeners and readers share what the reporters witnessed.

The Day in the Life threads right here on Free Republic are a record of what Americans could have been seeing if dncmedia had chosen to air it.

Example: The “Clinton Global Initiative” is getting credit for slowing the AIDS epidemic in Africa. President Bush’s initiatives and resources there get no credit. What our government has done in concert with some nations there has been remarkable as a Public Health partnership. But because it is a Republican administration initiative, and probably because it stressed healthy behavior, it has to be ignored by dncmedia.

The people of Africa, and the leaders of the countries who have gotten AIDS under control, know who was their benefactor, though, even if our newsmedia will not share that news with Americans.

Slick Willy gave away the candy from the candy store for campaign money, like allowing Loral to sell secret ICBM technology to China. But this guy Obama will give away the deed to the candy store.

Funny how those Al Queda missions have been kept secret since 2004. Obama starts getting security briefings and suddenly they’re front page news in the NYT.

Its the media at fault. Blinded by OBAMA...

Obama is not ready for Prime time.... 1 day after his first Intel brief... TS info is leaked to the NYT.... `1 day after his first TS meeting with the outgoing President info is leaded to the NYT..

how long will America stand for it? ... Maybe this is his catalyst to shut down Free Speech.. Obama is creepy and extremely scary he understands the Obama brand and the influence it holds....

From the day he's inaugurated there will be stories every day in the MSM about the daily life of Michelle and the kids.

Then we'll have to stop watching them, and reading them, won't we?

Oh, I’ll bet there are *some* world leaders who are smacking their lips with glee over dealing with such an inexperienced, yet arrogant, ass.

“will only be given TS info on a very restricted need-to-know basis by the information brokers within the NSA, Pentagon and other standing Washington DC agencies.”

All those agencies are still populated with Clinton appointees (AKA, Democrat operatives). Gracias, Jorge.

The article said that the meeting between Bush and Obama was private, just those two; who then could be the source of the leak?

Does the democrat party have another Rose Mary Woods?

I fully think those around obama think their status as “consilieries” makes them more important than the president.

$$$$$

I agree with you, and Obama does, too. O does not see himself as being more than a titular head, with his staff doing the heavy lifting - which includes all decision making. It is the pattern he has followed all his life, and whenever he may have been called on it, he just looked at the person, sadly, and declared their question or concern to be “racist,” (in post-modern terminology, of course.)

End of discussion, and he walked away unscathed.

He has said that his job is to explain (or sell) ideas to the American people.

Pelosi sees herself as our Prime Minister, and she and Podesta and Emanuel and sometimes Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer will be the decision-makers.

Cool! This is what Americans voted for!!!!!

He doesn’t speak well, he READS well.

The big folly is that people believed he wrote Dreams of my father.

He is a product of Bill Ayers.

Obama’s boys will be leaking lots of stuff; anything to hurt this nation. The intelligence and military organization had best keep secrets to themselves and tell that idiot and his henchmen nothing.

i am sure he knows you cant trust obama. i actually think this is a plus, not a negative.
in one clean swipe President Bush showed obama to be the amateur he is and that he lacks control over his advisers and staff.
obama may say “it is time for change” “these traditions are worn out” and it may play with his base, but most peeps have a respect for those traditions. wonder how much buyer remorse is going on right now in the undecided and moderate circles?
i also took what was said as a threat from bush, in a manner of speaking... barry better watch his back.
