- Forty-three Democratic legislators, including leaders of the California Senate and Assembly, filed a brief Monday urging that the California Supreme Court void Proposition 8.
Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata and incoming President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg signed the friend of the court brief, filed with the state Supreme Court.
No Republican legislator signed the petition, though Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican, denounced the anti-gay marriage measure in a television appearance over the weekend.

Here the usual suspects go again. When they lose an election, they ask a court to change the outcome to their liking. That's what we've come to expect from the California Democratic Party. Its leaders have said the people don't know what's best for them. So they try to have the decision they've made overturned because they lost.

Why didn’t these fools do this before the election rather than waste money for an election? I have no idea how much elections in California run but it can’t be cheap (for legal costs alone). Anyway, why aren’t they pointing at the black and hispanic bases who voted against it. I see an opportunity here to drive the hispanics and blacks away from an alliance here to put people like Pelosi out of office. Running up costs and ignoring what the people wanted are usually two good ways to get people’s attention.

Why don’t we ask the Supreme Court to void the Presidential election, since we don’t like the results?

Guess the 'will of the people' only counts when the results are what the liberals want.
Otherwise there is Hell to pay.

They really don’t get the purpose of an election, do they?

Exactly. If Obama is indeed a foreign born citizen, his election is invalidated. If the Left doesn't want to respect an election result they don't like, two can play the game.

Forty-three Democratic legislators, including leaders of the California Senate and Assembly, filed a brief Monday urging that the California Supreme Court void Proposition 8. The people who voted for Prop 8 need to take down these names and kick butts out when it's time for reelection.
Any legislator who fights the will of the voters should be fired.

They're all in safe districts. Chances they'll be kicked out are slim to none.

Go over to DU to lurk. There are people there blaming Blacks and Hispanics for this vote. I guess they think someone isn't a valid Liberal if they voted yes on Prop 8. Kinda like Black Conservatives not being authentic Blacks. I heard a gay Black man at the protest in Westwood saying he was being called the N word for this vote even though he was gay and voted against it. Leave it to the Liberals to lay blame to a whole segment of society. Gross generalization.

I hope the Left shows people their racism and contempt for blacks who don't toe the party line.

ROFLMAO! Red Arnold is a LIBERAL, which they leave out of the story. The truth is to minority voters, the NO side came across as an all white campaign. They lost in a big Democratic turnout year. And if they want to amend the Constitution to repeal Prop. 8, they have to make an affirmative argument for same sex marriage. Good luck with that one.

Maybe SCOTUS should just rule the Constitution as void.

The Prop 8 voters need to get new family-values Democrats and run them in the primaries against the radicals.
It can be done. Don't let them run unopposed, ever.

So much for “The Will Of The People.”
Classic Dem manuever, go around “The People Have Spoken” with activist judges.
