“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.
NEVER FORGET!

Not just the EU leaders. I got this in the mail from editor@opinionsource.com. I never even heard of them before.

America’s Hard Sell
By Steven Weber and Bruce W. Jentleson

http://www.foreignpolicy.com/story/cms.php?story_id=4529

Foreign Policy, 11/9/2008

The authors argue that for more than half a century, the US ensured that five Big Ideas shaped international politics. Those were: peace is better than war; hegemony, at least the benign sort, is better than a balance of power; capitalism is better than socialism; democracy is better than dictatorship; and Western culture is better than all the rest. They argue that as American dominance wanes and other ideas compete for pre-eminence in the 21st century, the US is going to have to refine its sales pitch to maintain its position as the leading arbiter of ideas in the world.

Bruce W. Jentleson is professor of public policy studies and political science at Duke University. Steven Weber is professor of political science and director of the Institute of International Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.

Watch out for 4 years of Newspeak as our individual liberties are eroded. Hide your guns and cash folks.
