According to three advisers participating in the process, Obama is expected to propose a new court system, appointing a committee to decide how such a court would operate. Some detainees likely would be returned to the countries where they were first captured for further detention or rehabilitation. The rest could probably be prosecuted in U.S. criminal courts, one adviser said. All spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing talks, which have been private.

He made this stupid pledge to the moonbats and there's no middle ground. Either he has to establish a separate-but-equal set of special courts in the US (which the Dems will fight tooth and nail), or he has to get conservatives to agree that trying them in standard federal courts is OK, because the public will go nuts.

He has the majority... let's see him make unpopular decisions now that he has it! It's not just the Republican's throats he'll be jamming this down, it's everyone's. He'll soon understand why Bush did so many things the way he did in the War on Terror.

He should have waited on this issue... way to start your new administration Barry!

He may have made that thinking he could weasel out of it. But if he doesn’t he could care less. He is the all knowing O and can not be wrong ever.

He will see less problem putting this on the country and the world. Releasing terrorists is nothing to him and should the go back to their countries an incite terrorism.

Wasn’t one released a few years ago and his native country did not want him back?
