Did you graduate boot camp in ‘70?

Happy Birthday, Marines!

As the wife of a retired Marine helicopter pilot, I wish all active duty and retired Marines the best.

Out of the several hundred young men I knew in my early 20s, 14 of them died in the Nam. One was my best friend, a Marine Corps lieutenant who was awarded a posthumous Silver Star after a horrible event at night while commanding his Medevac helicopter.

I think of him every day.
