Democrat Barack Obama garnered a surprising 20 percent of the vote from conservatives who cast ballots on Election Day, top-ranked radio-talker Rush Limbaugh told listeners.
Citing exit polls, Limbaugh also said on Wednesday that Republican John McCain lost independents and moderates by a margin of 60 percent to 39 percent.
McCain only got 89 percent of the Republican vote, Limbaugh said. He only got 80 percent of the conservative vote.
And therein lies the tale, the recipe offered up by the wizards of smart in the Republican Party and on our side for whatever reason we have to abandon our base, and weve gotta broaden our base . . .
I have nothing against going out and getting Democrats and independents to vote for you. But not by behaving like a Democrat or independent.
Fox News commissioned extensive exit polling on Election Day. Some highlights:

Well I hope those purists are happy with Comrade 0bama, because there is no guarantee we’ll even SEE another honest and free election in our lifetimes.
McCain was NOT my first choice, not even close. But when the choice came down to a Marxist radical and his left-wing terrorist-sympathizing buddies, and choosing McRINO, I pulled the lever for the GOP ticket.
My conscience is clear.

Frum-Noonan-Brooks-Parker master plan: piss off conservatives some more and victory will be ours.
Which begs the question, what if we did follow their course and victory were ours? What would have been the point?

The financial crisis is THE prime reason McCain lost. Perception driven by the media...plus no one wants to be associated with a party when people see their 401ks shrink.
The momentum therein was in Obama’s camp. In the future the right has to hit these issue WAY before they come around. WE should keep the 'economy' keyword up permanently.

"Rush on Weds: 20% of Conservatives voted for Obama according to exit polls." Nonsense. No conservative would vote Obama. They may have stayed home, but they wouldn't vote Obama. What exit polls call conservatives were probably Clinton liberals, telling exit polsters they were liberals, although personally I thik it's all BS, considering exit polls were conducted by lying pro Obama Media.

Women chose Obama over the McCain-Palin ticket by a margin of 56 percent to 43 percent.
In Pennsylvania, 20 percent of Democrats who voted for Hillary Clinton over Obama in the primary voted for McCain on Tuesday.
18 percent of voters who supported President Bush in 2004 defected from the GOP and supported Obama this year.
Voters who said they wanted a president who can bring about change overwhelmingly went for Obama, 89 percent to 9 percent.

People can label themeselves whatever they want, but conservatives didn’t vote for Obama. Anyone who claims to be a conservative and voted for Obama doesn’t understand what the word “conservative” means.
