I don’t have any guilt. I’ve been pardoned by someone with real intelligence and character:

“Whereas, the Emancipation Proclamation, the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments meant little more than empty words, “
I like Mr. Williams and agree with many things he has to say, but I totally disagree that those were “empty words”. They freed the slaves, and not just black ones. That is far from an empty act.
Attempting to say that prejudice wasn’t also wiped out so those things were empty words is demeaning to such a great accomplishment as ending legalized slavery in this country.
Blacks are just as responsible for their plight as any white man. They sold each other from Africa into slavery and once freed many continued to act as slaves and many others in later years acted badly. They still do.
I, as a white man, take no responsibility for slavery nor for blacks acting badly, therefore, I do not accept the Proclamation of Amnesty and Pardon Granted to
All Persons of European Descent by Walter Williams.
I understand why he thinks if all blacks followed his lead we could put aside this issue once and for all, but such a gesture cannot be made since it is based on falsehoods such as his quote from above and that all white today are guilty of slavery and all blacks are devoid of any blame for their current predicaments.
