Obama steering clear of Dems battle over Lieberman

WASHINGTON (AP) - President-elect Obama is avoiding the issue of whether Sen. Joe Lieberman should remain chairman of an important committee.

Lieberman's affiliation with Democrats is in question after the Connecticut independent's high-profile support of Republican John McCain for president.

Lieberman has met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, but there has been no word on whether Reid intends to try to remove Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Obama's incoming chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, says that what happens on Capitol Hill is the business of the House and Senate. Emanuel says the Obama administration's focus is on the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Emanuel spoke on ABC's "This Week."

I’d say Lieberman should join the GOP, except we already have enough RINO’s in the neighborhood. Nevertheless, if he is a man if principle, he wouldn’t change what he has done to date.

Tiger can’t change his stripes. Funny how the Dems want to attack the man now that he is a man without a party.

So much for Obama’s call to end bipartisanship. It obviously doesn’t apply in both directions.

Obama will “stay above” the dirty-work of his politics. He will let his lead goon, twinkle-toes, do all the visible scummy politics, and he will stay perched upon his “sanitary” marble pillar and pontificate his normal “verbal fecal matter”.

Everything bad that happens, will not have him carrying the dirty banner.

I respect Lieberman for wanting what's best for his country. If he caucuses with the Republicans maybe the Dems can't get a filibuster proof majority. Let's face it. We need more people with us. I don't care what his history is at this point.

Lieberman is so obviously playing both sides. I’m surprised either side wants him. I sure wouldn’t want him.

Hey Joe, time to join the GOP. You may be a liberal, but surely you don’t want to throw your lot in with the party that has demonstrated that they don’t care about national security.

"he will stay perched upon his “sanitary” marble pillar and pontificate his normal “verbal fecal matter”."

You do know why that Jessie Jackson was crying during Obama's victory 'speech" don't you?

He was crying because he could never get away with such a retarded speech such as that.

Obama:- "grab ahold of the Arc (ark?) of hope, and bend it to point in the right direction" or some such "prophetic" crap.

Ageed. Picture a large empty cardboard box, with noise coming out of it. The Obama image. With the warning words on the side saying “America Inside. Handle with Care.”

He will deliberately drop the box.

No thank you. We are trying to get rid of rino's, not recruit more.
Lieberman is ok guy, but he's OK as a Democrat or independant, but he's not an ok conservative.

Granted. But right now we have to take what we can get, and every little bit helps. For a senator from Connecticut he is about as “conservative” as you’re going to get.

We do NOT have to take what we can get. We already did that once with McCain, and that was ONLY because Obama wasn't an option at all.

Lieberman can serve us just as well from the independant side. If he is a true patriot, he'll never side with the Marxists and assist them with the destruction of America.

Speaking of Obama, who’s taking his senate seat now that he’s changed addresses?
