CHICAGO | President-elect Barack Obama's private conversation with Poland's president created an international disagreement Saturday, with President Lech Kaczynski saying Mr. Obama promised to continue a missile-defense system and the transition office saying the Democrat made no such commitment.
President Bush's White House declined to weigh in on the Friday phone call between the Polish leader and Mr. Obama, who will take office Jan. 20.
Mr. Obama has spoken with at least 15 world leaders including Mr. Kaczynski and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Mr. Kaczynski issued a statement in the Polish-language section of his Web site saying the U.S. president-elect "emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership of Poland and the United States and expressed hope in the continuation of political and military cooperation between our countries. He also said that the missile-defense project would continue."

[The way people have set Obama up as a messiah, have also set him up for a HUGE fall]
Yup. Take consolation in the preordained fact that Utopia will not be achieved. Obama/Biden could set us up for a huge revival.

A bit off topic, but worthy of comment, since I suspect he'll be backtracking everywhere.
President Lech Kaczynski saying Mr. Obama promised to continue a missile-defense system and the transition office saying the Democrat made no such commitment.
Surely President Kaczynski realizes commitments made during the campaign don't hold post-election. Particularly whe V. good heart Putin is moving missles into the Baltic. Not to worry, our steel spined President elect will talk to them.

We'll, I guess no more interviews with the Polish government. Too tough a question.
"And here's the point I want to make. Mark my words. Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he's gonna have to make some really tough - I don't know what the decision's gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it's gonna happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you, not financially to help him, we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right. Because all these decisions, all these decisions, once they're made if they work, then they weren't viewed as a crisis"

During the early part of the campaign, O said something about how he was going to deal with the trade situation...and then he sent an emissary to the Canada powers to tell them that he really didnt mean it. He used a similar tactic with the President of Iraq.
I believe him, you can't believe him.

I think it is probably normal for foreign leaders to call a President elect to congratulate him and to introduce themselves. But I don't think that it is normal for the foreign leader to report on what assurances were made, if any, during such a conversation. I think that would be up to the President elect. (The proper way for such assurances to be brought to light would have been for the Polish leader to ask Obama to speak about them.) If the Polish Leader made up what he said, maybe hoping to paint the President elect into a position he hasn't taken or doesn't want to take, then it would be more than proper for the President elect to make the comment he did. I'm not the least bit happy about an Obama Presidency, but I'm also not going to assume that he is automatically wrong about everything." Oh right. Blame it on the foreign leader of Poland, our friend and ally, blame it on the Polish leader, the man with international experience.
No, but wait. You are saying that our ally was in the wrong because a Marxist community organizer would never mess up international global balance two months prior to he and his goons taking over the United States.
Now I understand how so many people were duped into voting for Barack Hussein Obama.

Poland will be like South Africa in the 80s for lefties.
They are staunchly pro-life and anti-gay. So expect a lot of pressure from Obama’s supporters to distance ourselves from Poland.

Putin is testing Obama to see which of his 3 options he chooses:
1) Deploy the defensive missiles as scheduled.
2) Cut a deal with Putin that he’ll not deploy the defensive missiles if Putin will not deploy his offensive missiles.
3) Unilateraly not deploy the defensive missiles.
Putin and I expect Obama to choose #3 and thus give Putin the green light he’s hoping for.

Exactly right. Next Obama will trust that Putin will disband and disarm and destroy all nukes as we do the same with no verification....
When we are ripe for the picking it will be So long USA.
Scary indeed...

In New Jersey they're Polack, Eyetalian, or whatever ethnic you wish to demean.
But Omama has set a new exciting tone!
"How many Obama's does it take to screw up International Relations?"

two words to avoid at all cost next time. ......... "Rick Perry"....I'll remember that.
Also, think of how we could have avoided Obama if that classless Republican who was to be his opponent for the Senate wouldn't have fooled the electorate into thinking that he had values and was conservative.
The entire country will now pay for his indiscretions.

Oh I pray that doesn't happen.
Also think JFK and how desperately Obama wants to be identified with him. Perhaps Obama desires his own version of a Cuban missile crisis in his payment and thanks to the Soviets.
