I live in Sf and could tell you some stories.
Among other things, our church was firebombed. Firebombed! Because we stood against homosexuality. This was 20 years or so ago, but still.
I’ve walked into church through lesbian kiss-ins.
They - at least a large number of them - remind me of Muslims in that they are NOT live and let live.
It’s convert or die.
I am sure a few Muslims really would leave me alone to my beliefs, and I know a few gays who do, too. But they are a MINORITY.
You’re right. And I can’t explain, now, where I found the text which accompanies the video.
One liberal argument I read for this is that “conservatives want government in our bedrooms.” Nowhere have we said that bedrooms can’t be filled with adults doing whatever they want.
bd476, I feel like I'm watching a deja vu from the Willie Brown as SF Mayor years. From the get go, Willie was hit up hard by both Black and Gay lobbies as to which group was going to get his first interest. Willie went with "Black"; telling Gay lobby their day would come next.
What's this gotta do with Prop 8? Well, the voters tossed Willie and elected Gavin, Mr. "I have authority to wed gay couples". Gavin is allegedly straight. During the Willie years, however, things got pretty brutal in SF. The gay lobby got massively organized and moved their people throughout SF into key roles and positions.
SF is the Dem model for just about everything. I'll wager the next Dem Presidential offering will be somewhat in the Gavin Newsom model.
The Love Won Out conference in Boston several years ago particularly comes to mind. This was a conference sponsored by Focus on the Family for Church ministers and those wanting, voluntarily, to escape the homosexual lifestyle by the power of Christ. No government coercion involved; no legislative objective in mind; no in-your-face proselytizing employed. And yet, I have never seen such a vile display of evil responses from the gaystapo in my life. Absolutely demonic in its character and in the depths of its hatred.
yet they consider and are going to explain this as “normal”
Public legally-sanctioned weddings of peverts is not something in the bedroom. Neither is the hate-fest of indoctrination of school children. The gaystapo is mad and showing their true colors. Pay attention, people.
The homosexual see this as an issue that the public just doesn’t understand. The public sees it as an issue the homosexuals don’t understand.
The ramifications of this go way beyond recognition of homosexual marriage. It goes into societal approval of these relationships. It goes into children’s education. It’s just not something the public wants to buy off on.
If you can’t get California to buy off on this, imagine what Montana thinks about it.
I believe homosexuals should have certain protections under the law, but I do not believe they should be able to bastardize very thing they want to, just because they are homosexuals.
I am quite often gay. I have never been a homosexual. When I see a rainbow, I think of the God who created it and his promise not to destroy the earth by flood again. And when I think marriage, I’m thinking the best setting for someone becoming a nurturing dad and mom.
