As the implosion of the defeated Republican campaign continued yesterday, the landscape of American conservatism was dotted with signs that these were very strange times indeed.
Rush Limbaugh, behemoth of rightwing radio, took to the airwaves to declare war on two enemies: Barack Obama and the Republican party. Bloggers at FreeRepublic.com, an internet hub for conservatives, announced a boycott of Fox News and John McCain's aides fell over one another to leak embarrassing details about the campaign to the press.
Liberals, indulging in what the writer Andrew Sullivan termed "Palinfreude", were presented with a smorgasbord, ranging from the tale of how McCain's pro-Palin foreign policy adviser had his Blackberry confiscated in the closing days of the race, to how the party had paid for Todd Palin's silk boxer shorts.
The fighting consuming the McCain and Palin camps threatened to derail broader efforts to overhaul the Republican party after Tuesday's decisive defeat, for which some insiders blamed Sarah Palin. Veterans of the right gathered in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, on Thursday for a summit on the movement's future, but even as they did so, the blame went on.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is worse than I thought," Limbaugh told listeners. "What the Republican party, led by disgruntled and failed McCain staffers, is trying to do to Sarah Palin, is unconscionable ... There are country-club, blue-blood ... Republicans who want nothing to do with a firebrand conservative [who] can fire up people." He added: "We're going to be taking on two things here [over] the next four years: Obama, and our own party establishment."
John Fund, a Wall Street Journal columnist, said he had received multiple calls from campaign aides wanting "to use me as a conduit for their complaints".

Every time I watch Colmes, I sense that he knows he's lying (he lies early and often) but that he uses disinformation, misdirection and deception as a technique. Quite passive-aggressive as well, as he continually steps on conservatives’ punch lines. Watch him with Ann Coulter, who calls him on it.

If you are referring to Obama you are wrong. He lacks one ball. But then so did Hitler. That may be why he was an insecure asshole.
Nobody else does either. She has a 91% approval rating amongst Republicans and would win the nomination in a walk, if the primary were today, according to Rasmussen.
In spite of the media BS, 68% of Republicans believe Sarah helped McCain, rather than hurt him. The other 32% probably are still pissed that Mitt didn’t get the nomination.
I think you’re wrong. If Romney decides to run for CA Guv he would win.

Ya, RINOs alike. Though I doubt Mitt would actually win CA. Maybe with their economic problems, he could talk a good game, but he has no record of doing much but leaving massive economic problems, like Romneycare for instance.
If you’ve got an in in Mittworld, suggest to him that if he’s going to carpetbag it, that he run against Harry Reid in NV instead. That would be more useful to the party.
As I mentioned before, Palin problem is not only that she is a woman but her image has been badly damaged and unfortunately most people believed what the media has told them about Palin.
I've seen her speak live three different times, and once I was lucky enough to get super close to her , as those pics show, and after the speech she signed my home made GO SARAH GO! sign. I was right next to her. And after she signed it she looked me right in the eye and said "Thank you for your support"! SHE was thanking ME! She's one in a million, and I think she would be a great leader! And she's a good role model for young people!

Mitt’s speech at the convention was a dud
exactly. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard on TV or the radio or from dem friends or whatever that Obama won and now we all have to get behind him and support him and he’s our President and we all want the best for the country. Which I agree with. But, when Bush won in 2000 or 2004 I don’t recall anyone saying that. I don’t recall any dems saying we need to get behind Bush. I don’t recall the media telling us all how we need to support him.
Speaking of Obama’s shot at Nancy Reagan, at least Bush was President when Ronnie passed. If a dem was in office there would have been no nat’l ceremony, no lying in state, none of all the great honors and respects that he got.
This is certainly the dems time now. But the pendulum will swing. It always does.

I didn't see it first hand. I took it on good authority. To be honest Barak doesn't have one ball. Well that's what I was told.

I understand they are rattled by Cameron, so am I. It’s not the first time he has been the instrument of Republican destruction, either. But it’s counterproductive to us to do so.
