TV producer Norman Lear has co-signed an e-mail warning fellow liberals that with Democrats in control of Congress and the White House, the Republican Party will take a hard turn to the extreme right.
Lear, co-founder of People For the American Way, and the organizations president, Kathryn Kolbert, wrote: With the right in its new role as the opposition, get ready to see an invigorated right-wing grassroots, media and organizational infrastructure.
Kolbert and Lear whose TV shows included All in the Family and The Jeffersons asserted that the The Heritage Foundation is already digging in its heels saying they will not let President-elect Obama bring about the change he's promised.
The e-mail predicts:
# Right-wing blogs, talk radio and television outlets like Fox News will experience a boom, and new personalities will emerge.
# Considering the popularity of Sarah Palin, who appealed to the far-right base, many will make the case that the best political strategy is a hard-line and unabashed commitment to right-wing ideology.
# Following the passage of anti-gay ballot initiatives in Arkansas, Arizona, Florida and California, the emboldened religious right will seek to repeat these tactics in state after state.

You meathead, Norman.
Nice graphic.
The left is really hell bent on silencing any opposition aren’t they.
I wish.
For the past 5-6 years Republicans at the national level haven't been able to find their ass with both hands.
Libs have nothing to fear.
I thought he was dead.
what is extreme right or far right? You know ppl like Ron Paul while anti-war is pretty far right. The farther right you go,the more you are against government intervention in anything
We don't have that kind of luck.
He says that like it’s a bad thing...
BTTT
1960's center/left is now considered far right.
I hope we go right.
Lear can’t live forever.
this should be linked to the Jewish supporters of Obama threads
There’s a huge power vacuum, and a bigger ‘celebrity’ vacuum on the right. It’s sad to say, but people need ‘hip’ in their lives and Republicans now are so unhip...
The last one that fit the bill was Reagan, and I sure don’t see any Reagans around. Not even Sarah, as much as I think she’s great.
I listen to the big tent arguments all the time. While it sounds logical, what has it gotten us? Bush, McCain and the whole lot have been been embrassing the illegals, creating big gov programs and reaching across the aisle like nobodies business. The results have been crappy at best.
This is an astute observation.
*spell correction on embracing* Wish we had edit :)
I think you are thinking of the bugged eyed actress’s dad. Can’t think of her name right now. 90210.
We’ve been trying to fight the far left with a “moderate” right. It’s like taking a balloon to a gunfight.
JFK would be ‘hard right’ to this idiot...
