WASHINGTON In his preparation to become president, Barack Obama said Friday that he has had discussions with all former presidents or almost all of them.
"I've spoken to all of them that are living," the president-elect said in a lighter moment during his first press conference since his victory.
"I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any seances," he joked.

It’s OBAMAFORM. It isn’t going to ride well for long.
Talk about an outfit how about Mrs Obama’s Black Widow Dress.

He survived the debates both against Hillary and McCain by NOT trying to be funny at all. If there was a lighter moment, it was natural.
He better stick to that script.
Mocking American Icons, especially elder Icons, would lose you points faster than you know.
Definite mistake.

"Nice now we see how little respect he has for the elderly. No wonder grannys being buried without him."
As I said on another thread, it makes me wonder if he knew his grandmother was terminally ill when he said she was a typical white person.

About as funny as Nancy’s distress after Reagan was shot.

I cannot remember any time other than Jack Kennedy clowning around about Jackis clothing bills, a President taking a cheap shot at a former first lady. Well, at least Jack had paid the bills, so he could talk.
I didn't notice anywhere in all this any references to Hillary and midnight talks with Eleanor Roosevelt.
Short memories, I guess. And it wasn't important to begin with. Not like something Nancy Reagan said, which we must remember against her forever.

“Sorry, but I kind of think this is funny.”
You do?
He’s the President-elect. He isn’t some comedian or halfcocked clown who has the luxury of alienating a sizeable portion of the US.
He talks like a Chicago street jerk by demeaning an ill 90 year old woman who had no part in this fight.
If he can’t watch what he says and cover it gracefullly rather than resorting to clownish crap, he is going to cause an international incident at some point.
I’ve said it before. He does not have enough experience for the job.

"Sorry, but I kind of think this is funny. Astrologer consulting First Lady is fair game."
Uh, except that he had it wrong.

As I said on another thread, it makes me wonder if he knew his grandmother was terminally ill when he said she was a typical white person. I read his grandparents were both CPUSA members. How "typical" is that?
But your point about "typical white person" is taken, and his having said it about a sick relative.

Well, I certainly wouldn’t be in mourning like the nation was for Kennedy....

Stripe of misogyny exposes his Muslim upbringing.
Nancy is down with a broken hip injury, what can she do to him. Nancy Reagan has never spoken out about anything since leaving the White House. If only other ex-Presidents had such character and dignity.
But picking on an old and frail lady, that's just too much to stomach.

Just to underscore your point....AFAIK, Nancy Reagan consulted with an Astrologer or psychic, but she never held any seances.
This from Obama, whose Kenyan relatives practice chicken-slaughtering witchcraft? Well, he might not want to go there, but since he's a classless @ss....
