My bad. :( I thought you said Palin, after re-reading, I saw you actually wrote McPain.

I apologize.

I want Sarah and Duncan Hunter to spend some time chatting. That’s what I want.

She’s a big girl and, I’m told, owns a whole drawer full of “big girl” panties.

She will decide whats in her interests and it coincide with ours. I’ll support her decision.

Cool facts, thanks.

I stay by my basic conviction, that she is better as Gov.

No way she should go to the Senate. The last two Senators who were elected were...Obama and...JFK. She should stay two terms as governor if she has to.

We need governors to run, not congressman. Governors are more capable executives and are by light years.

“If she stays governor of Alaska, even a quite successful governor, the left will paint her as a foreign policy lightweight in 4 years”

******

Easy.
A few well times, well publicised trips to Iraq and Afghanistan, inluding photo ops with her son who is in service, plus “consultations’ with the female German Chancellor Angella Merkel, the conservative French President Nicolas Sarkozy (who thinks she’s great), etc etc in the next couple of years should take care of that issue.
Hey, Comrade Obambi did the same thing in that trip of his and became a foreign policy “expert” in just one week didn’t he? (tongue in cheek).

If Stevens is expelled, then can Governor Palin appoint a new Senator? If so, then it would be better for Alaska if she appointed someone other thsn herself.

You said — “A special election will be called. Appointment is not possible.”

Governor Palin said (on a radio station in Alaska) that this was an issue that was in dispute and she was waiting for a legal answer to that from the Attorney General.

She said that Alaska should not go without representation and that she would like to seat someone there for a temporary period of time and then have an election for choosing the final candidate.

At this point, it may or may not be possible...

Yes, that’s right. Then Sarah could run for the Senate seat. Of course Stevens would first have to resign or be kicked out of the Senate. The reason Sarah has to be coy about her intentions now is she doesn’t know what is going to happen to Stevens or when it will if it does happen.

You said — “Only if she wants to.”

She indicate in an Alaska radio station interview that she did not want to. There was something about it being something against her principles and some problems there in Alaska from that past (that I don’t understand, not being privy to it). So, by her own words, she will not do that...

She doesn't need to "brush up on issues". She lives them!

The Stevens issue is a no win for Alaska. The Dem Senate under the color of “integrity” will be expelled.

Having Gov. Palin assume the senate seat is the worst possible thing if she chooses a national career. She will lose at every turn. It places her in a perpetual whipping boy corner. Her press coverage will be nill unless she speaks out.

She has nothing to learn there but the politics of abject Republican compromise. She already knows the extent of the corruption, so that’s nothing new.

And worst of all, she would be under constant pressure from McCain and his inept machine.

Alaska needs her and she can hone her governng skills all the more.

The election hasn’t truly shaken out yet. A serious after action analysis needs to be done and RINOs must have no part in this.

Her family, as strong as it is, remains wounded from the onslaught of the media and the backstabbers here and in the GOP. Healing time is in order.

You said — “Let her nominate her husband for it and she can keep the governorship.”

Well, because of past political problems of that same nature, she made it clear that she was not going to do something like that... LOL...

She was only talking about the interim post of appointing herself, not about the special election that would take place when the election day is set.
