Senior U.S. military officials will likely advise Barack Obama to adjust his campaign pledge to withdraw all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by mid-2010. While promising a 16-month timetable for getting all U.S. fighting forces out, Obama repeatedly insisted on what he calls a "responsible" withdrawal. Pulling nearly all U.S. troops and equipment out of Iraq in 16 months is "physically impossible," says a top officer involved in briefing the President-elect on U.S. operations in Iraq. That schedule would create a bottleneck of equipment and troops in the south of Iraq and Kuwait where brigades repair, clean and load vehicles and weapons for the trip home, said the official. Others say U.S. could conceivably pull out on that time scale, although that would require leaving more equipment behind. A more important concern that, officers believe the security gains in Iraq would be put at risk if troops were withdrawn before the Iraqi security forces are in a position to protect their own communities and borders.

Would it be advisable to bring the troops home before his civilian security force is deployed?
“Hope and Change,” Obamatron suckers! “Hope and Change!” BWAH-Ha-Ha-Ha-Haaaaaaa!!!
HA HA HA HA HA
Change you may have believed in !!!
You promised. Bring em home. Lets produce another failure.
I was just thinking about this while drinking my coffee this morning.
And what did I realize? That if you listen closely to Obama’s words he went from saying he was going to withdraw troops immediately.... then he said 16 months.... then he said he’d adjust the timetable based on conditions on the ground........... In other words, he was basically taking the same position as McCain in the end...... the only difference is the media kept pushing the 16 month thing.... and pegged McCain with wanting to stay for 100 years.
He’s going to make a shit-a mess of this. IIRC, he orignally said Troops out on Day 1.
bring them home fast rather than let them stay over there and be butchered on the field due to intelligence leaks from the idiots, narcissists, traitors and communists in zerO’s administration.
(pssst...I’m Joe Biden....and I KNOW A SECRET)
Those that voted for him are going to be punked over and over with this guy.
BO is going to face reality in the face and he and his supporters aren’t going to like it.
Okay, there’s going to be suckage with him as a prez, but it looks like we’re going to have some fun while doing it!
SUCKAAAHS!
I just hope and pray the security briefings he is now getting have caused him to grow up and realize he wasn’t elected student body president.
I always figured that would be one small silver lining if he won. We could watch him and his team self destruct and say we told you so.
This Iraq story is rich. At what point are the Kos and moveon people going to start yelling for his impeachment? They were disappointed that Pelosi and the Dems couldn’t end the war but must have given them some slack because Bush was still in. Now what are they going to do? Heh heh.
That is all the democrats really care about and it is the only thing that the democrats will hold his feet to the fire over.
Ms. Wallace, Mr. Schmitt, please pick up the pink phone.
