"The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start."

These nosy little pricks in OBAMACORPS t-shirts will bring their clipboards into every large and small business, looking for OSHA violations, union regulations ignored, too many soda machines without juice options, EPA violations etc etc etc. They will be the eyes and ears of the fedgov, ready to report any failure to meet 10,000 laws, codes, rules and regulations. And you will have to kiss their behinds or face their wrath.

I hope so. I’m a big advocate of “internal emmigration,” to use a phrase from the USSR. Move to the reddest county in the reddest state you can find, as far away as possible from blue urban ‘rat parasite zones. Don’t be a host for the parasites, get away from them.

I couldn’t even begin to elaborate how grateful I am for my folks sacrificing and sending me to Catholic school. Even when my mom was a struggling single mother for a while, she kept me out of the public school system.
