Byron York, Jen Rubin, and Michelle Malkin all have smart takes on the McCain aides' smearing of Sarah Palin. The Anchorage Daily News has a couple videos of Sarah Palin talking to the press after arriving back in Alaska, and it looks like she's more than capable of defending herself, if she thought it was worth her time. Regarding the leaks against her, Palin said:
If theyre an unnamed source, then that says it all. I wont comment on anybodys gossip, or allegations that are based on anonymous sources. Thats kind of a small, evidently bitter type of person who would anonymously charge something foolish like that, that I perhaps didnt know an answer to a question.
So until I know who was talking about it, I wont have a comment on false allegations.

Take heart. For our reward in suffering another Jimmy Carter, there is another Ronald Reagan waiting in the wings - in the person of Sarah Palin.
One of my coworkers was belittling Gov. Palin today. I was thinking, here is a guy that doesn't take on any more personal responsibility than absolutely necessary criticizing a wonderful lady has taken on vast responsibilities in both her public and private life. She actually stands for protecting his lifestyle, but he is too stupid to understand.
On what basis do you say that?
Yeah, those threats worked with the bailout bill, right?
Face it, the elected officials of today don't give a brass penny what WE The PEOPLE think. We are only assets to them. We are their sheep, bleating on the way to slaughter.
Seeing a lot of posts meant to get everyone spun up and divisive by a bunch of names that signed up around a month ago and other FR’s are seeing it too...
O’Reilly just invited Palin to come on his show on Monday and answer the accusations herself. I hope she takes him up on it. Laura Ingraham was also on the show and she agreed that Palin should take him up on the offer. Set the record straight!
Amen!
Jimmy Carter? Obama makes Carter look like Reagan.
The times that we are in..the WOT, our Israeli allies thrown under the bus like so many white gram-ma’s..
No, the danger with Obama is far greater than with a mere southern peanut farmer...
Some of us have the brainpower to figure it out, rocketscience.
Define “divisive”: acknowledging that there are different factions within the Republican Party with actively conflicting interests who are currently duking it out on innumerable levels for ultimate control of the GOP?
The bailout was pushed so close to Nov. 4 there was not enough time to find and back a true conservative. In republican areas people only had the choice of a Republican who voted for it or a Democrat. They chose the lesser of two evils...as we had to do in the Presidential race.
But, with the Supreme Court appointments there is a great deal more time for scrutiny and time afterwards to find a true conservative to run against them the next time they are up for re-election.
I don’t have a ping list, but you can click on the SarahPalin keyword on FR.
It’s not trivial, and you know it.
My point was, we threatened our reps with no re-election if they voted bailout.
They didn’t give a rusty nail.
They did it anyway.
Without knowing what would happen on the 4th of November.
Her handlers are upset that she didn’t cowtow to their spineless plans.
Wonderful.
Not trivial THEN.
Now, we have much bigger fish to fry.
You wanna cry over spilled milk or save the cow?
You don’t get it. Just as the Mediascum did the dirty work of the Demagogues, pushing Governor Palin’s unfavorability rating up to 50%, some in the RINO wing of the GOP are trying to tar her with this loss, and make her radioactive for 2012 and beyond (to mix metaphors).
This crap must be beaten down aggressively because the battle has been joined for the future of the party...... and the country will not have ANY good conservative national candidates if the myth takes hold that Governor Palin sank this ticket.
In reality, she was the best thing about this ticket, and if the McCain campaign had done an adequate job of rolling her out and beating off the smears all along then they would have had a fighting chance of winning.
