News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

Couric was just an example. I had a real problem, in general, with the way Palin answered questions. It was never straight and to the point. She sounded like a populist and not a real conservative.
That really bothered me because her whole appeal was that she was supposed to be a Washington outsider and not just another politician.

I almost sent a contribution to McLoser’s campaign. As stated above, the only reason I was thinking of doing that was because of Palin. The last few days of the campaign he had that look like man I am done.
I hope that Sarah Palin will be back. One of a very few truly conservatives left.
I hope that he comes out soon and does something to stop these horrible attacks on her.

If he feels this way about her, where is he? He should have spoken up...

A decent man would have done. But what's the percentage? She's on her way back to the backwoods, or so a lot of people hope, and he's on his way back to a soft landing in the Senate. Wouldn't be prudent to say or do anything that might upset his good friends across the aisle.

I am seeking digital photos of Sarah Palin for a new web site I am setting up in appreciation of her.

If you find one where she's wearing the towel, let me know.

Look, if I was mistaken, I apologize.

What we do not need is to feed gossip and anything destructive to the party right now.

That was my only real point. The poster is correct to defend Palin but the media is running with this crap too much.

thanks.

I feel somewhat cleansed. I just emailed McCain campaign and demanded return of my contributions. I wrote that along with my contribution came the expectation that he would run a credible campaign.

I said that he did not, so I feel cheated and want my money back. I also told him his campaign staff’s attack on Palin is dishonorable. McCain, afterall selected her for running mate.

I’ll be interested to see if I get anything but the auto response from that bunch.

Great points, beagleone. I especially agree with this:

“We also need a Conservative version of ACORN, minus the fraud.”

This stinking bio-pile is just vying for a better deck chair on the Titanic.
For Fox “News-makers” (a position formerly held by reporters) to be a “player” in the new White House era they feel they need to shed their conservative right-leaning image. What better way to do this than to (attempt) to sacrifice the poster child of the conservative movement.
If I owned stock in Fox I would sell it soon. They are following all the other dinosaurs into the tar pit.

The “anonymous” leaker should come forward and face the camera. ANYBODY can make “anonymous” claims and accusations. It would not be allowed in a court of law, but is allowed in the court of public opinion. If this person is sooooo damned concerned then show us your face. A defendent has the constitutional right to face the accuser in a court of law. This is a sleazeball scumbag way of defaming somebody. I cannot believe that FOX actually aired the accusations from “anonymous sources”. Carl Cameron sounded like a giddy schoolgirl breathlessly airing the latest dirt from the gossip circle at the lunchroom. I have lost all confidence in him and FOX.....

Sarah Palin ticked off a lot of people in Alaska govt. cleaning things up. I’ll bet she took some slackers in the McCain campaign to task and this is their payback.

Don’t like your boss? Go get another job, whiner!

Palin scares the poop out of the left.

She also scares the poop out of campaign slackers who get paid to do nothing but walk around and tell volunteers to shut up and work harder for nothing. These people are professional campaigners who want a job the next time around. It's not their fault, it's Palin's. I say burn these bitches to the ground.

I agree. Go on CNN Talkback and Hannity & Colmes and tell us all about it. This anonymous leaking is gutless crap.

Ironically, McCain started raking in huge cash after Palin was named as the VP choice, because the base loved her, but since he had already decided to take public financing he was locked in to the 84M. It was McCain’s blind obediance to CFR that did him in on the money front. He wouldn’t have outraised Obama but if he opted out of public financing after he picked Palin he would have had a heck of a lot more than 84M to spend.

oh well

They should be blaming who’s responsible. And that would be “Let’s pay nice” McCain.

“It just goes to show that McCain really is the POS everyone who couldn’t stand him said he was, all along”

There are many things I don’t like about Sen. McCain by the two things that will always be foremost was the way he treated a group that petitioned him on behalf of Vietnam Veterans which they thought remained prisoners after the war. There are many such stories, some even think Russia is holding soldiers, and they may not be true but his treatment of this group showed his character (namely rude and petty). The other was his call to close Abu Ghraib, if he thinks capitulation will cease attacks he is not only rude, he is very foolish.

Boy am I disappointed in Fox, OReilly and most of all Carl Cameron - and after Sarah gave him an interview. He did sound giddy and orielly just sat there - could have at least introduced it as unconfirmed stuff - then last night O’Reilly said the factor was a news program - that’s a joke - and he sat there every night saying that Obama was honest with “the folks” - he’s getting more and more like that fruit cake Mathews - knows more than the guests, when do they figure it out that people don’t tune in to hear what he has to say, but to hear his guest - and, like mathews, he now interrupts them and argues with them about stuff he knows nothing about - his talking over Rove was insane - then he suddenly has become an expert on the stock market - this idiot after admitting that he lost his whatever in Lehmann. He was arguing with an expert market analyst - saying that his investments were taxed twice - before he bought stock and then again when he sold them - not just the profit, but the entire price of the stock that he sold them for - what an idiot...

Then its the horrible oil companies of which he has no clue about their business - and then its the crooks on Wall Street, not the idiot democraps with their Acorn (with Obama teaching them) who forced the banks change their strict lending practices to lend to “the folks” (don’t you hate that!) that never should have ‘purchased’ a home. Speaking of ‘pinheads’. Hellooooo O’Reilly, you can’t mix socialism into our system and expect to get away with it. O’Reilly keeps showing clips of his disgraceful and stupid screaming match with the crooked Barney.

And then there was the most horribly disgraceful interview of Shepard Smith with Joe the Plummer - he was so arrogant and downright mean to Joe.

I guess the ratings have gone to their heads and they have forgotten that when you reach the top there is only one place to go — happy landing Fox - I will only watch Sean and Gretta!!!

Guess there’s nothing for us to watch - I’ll be back to Law and Order - at least Fred shows up there occassionally - LOL
