Regular Folks United ^ | November 6, 2008 | Kerri Houston Toloczko

News has been circulating around GOP insiders for weeks that McCain campaign honchos Rick Davis and Steve Schmidt were planning to blame Sarah Palin for McCain’s loss. This was expected to be an effort to punt the blame for their own failures to the side of the ticket that was most popular with the base, attracted the largest rally crowds, and scared the living bejeepers out of the opposing party.

“This whole damn thing was whipped up by Obama/Alkinsky operatives!”

That work for John McCain? That can’t be right.

Randy Scheunemann is pro-Palin from all accounts I have read, Wallace, et al are out to get him too.

Be sure of the players before you smear them.

This is lunacy. A RAT plant could not do better. WTF is going on? Is this a RAT dirty trick I wonder? McCain needs to nip this in the bud.

Or is this the phoenix in flames, a necessary part of the regeneration? I want my Conservative Party. Fornicate the RINOS.

Yeah, and it must be the same Obama/Alinsky operatives, within the Republican party, who are saying they need to clean the Republican house.

I don’t know who this “We” is.

I’m not a Republican (consider myself a Conservative)and I didn’t vote for him in the primaries or the general.

I’ll hold my fire on McCain himself (he picked her himself over some staff objections from what I’ve heard), but some of his staff is another story. They want another job and want to be accepted in the beltway.

When Schmidt refused to answer reporters questions Tuesday about what he thought of Palin, he was already distancing himself from her and from the McCain choices.

I’m 100% with you on this one...

McCain did complain a little about Obama reneging on the agreement to use public financing, but never really hit him (Obama) with a line like: “Senator Obama has reneged on his agreement to use public financing of his campaign. How, then, can anyone trust his promises on anything else, especially tax cuts?” Or, hit even harder and say “Senator Obama has reneged on his agreement to use public financing for his campaign. This proves he cannot be trusted to honor ANY of his promises.”

(A comparison with how well North Korea honored their agreement with Clinton, on Nukes, could also be tossed in for additional effect.)

Is anyone open to the possibility that Palin may not be as bright and articulate as we need a nominee to be - that the accusations from Cameron were accurate?

Her grammar when speaking extemporaneously is worse than Bush's and the ABC and CBS interviews were weak. Her educational background doesn't strike me as someone who has much understanding of economics at large or an ability to articulate them. She is no Tony Blair.

Am I wrong?

She also performed very well against Joe “make it up as I go along Biden” in the VP debate.

Oops, that was supposed to read:

She also performed very well against Joe “I am so smart I can make it up as I go along and get away with it” Biden in the VP debate.

"A comparison with how well North Korea honored their agreement with Clinton, on Nukes, could also be tossed in for additional effect."

I would have run ads with Obama making his '95% tax cut' promise followed immediately by Clintoon's 1993 speech that he had 'looked as hard as he could' but couldn't find a way to keep his middle-class tax cut pledge.

This stuff ain't difficult. The Repubs didn't want to win, McCain was just like GHWB and Dole. They knew that.

Here's how it works: You get Clintoon to pass NAFTA and Welfare Reform (things a Repub couldn't do) and Shrub to pass the Patriot Act (something a Demo couldn't do).

Now we got Obama and who knows what his mission is?

The complete submission of the USA to Islam and the U.N.?

One of our problems too is that Rush defended GWB long after GWB was beyond any help to conservatives.

Everyone on the conservative side defended GWB to try to get more Republicans elected. I'm not going to turn on Rush. He's been one consistent voice for defining conservatism. He's one of the good guys.

I'm not saying he and he alone would make the difference. We need more voices in TV media. That would help a lot. But, we can at least begin to recognize what's been going on with the Obama campaign and start adjusting OUR tactics. O and his supporters are still campaigning along with the media.

Cameron was absolutely pathetic last night. He was gleeful when he was reporting. He reminded me of a little kid tattling.

I will be boycotting all the media outlets for a while and I suggest everyone else do the same.

You know... IF Romney is somehow behind this (and I am NOT saying he is, as I have no proof), then someone like Michelle Malkin or Rush should be able to smoke it out... And someone needs to get to the bottom of it quickly, so whoever IS behind it can be flushed out of the house for good. Regardless of who they are.

She is no Tony Blair.

You say that like it's a bad thing. We don't need another socialist republican - we need a true conservative. And Sarah Palin is a true conservative.

“...Obama was such a horribly weak candidate that he needed 8 times the money for less than 5% points...”

Yes, and you’re right about it only could have been done with support of the MSM running interference and NOT publishing the truth about Obama.

Then you really have no say in what’s happening within the Republican party, do you?

I would like to see a broad movement to get a Conservative Party up and running in all 50 states and DC. Let the RINOs have the Republican Party and it can go the way of the Whigs. And good riddance. Tell the Reagan Democrats and independents that we’ll never ask them to vote Republican again: they can be true to their ideals and join the Conservatives.
