Boycott of FOX
Vanity | 11-06-08 | Veritas 2002

Posted on 11/06/2008 10:07:54 AM PST by veritas2002

I propose that we punish the FOX Network for its hatchet job on Sarah Palin.

For one week beginning at 3:00 PM today no one tunes them in. We will demonstrate the power of conservatives when their ratings plummet dramatically.

Will you join me?

Consider it done and for more then 3 months. I will miss the pretty faces of Megan and Martha though. :-)

a sincere question.......why is it news?

McCain and Palin lost; they are back in their respective states and jobs; they’re not major players in the transition to new Pres. What bearing does any pettiness during the campaign have on ANYTHING?

I suspect Cameron would say it’s news. But, I don’t understand why...??

Sorry to break your boycott.

The Fox web site is very very slow. Looks like they are being flooded with complaints on their comments page.

I boycotted Fox following the third debate.

Yes, that was the tipping point for me as well. This was the first election since FOX News has been on the air that I did not watch a single minute of coverage.

In some ways, I compare FOX News to a newly elected politician with good right-center ideals who goes to the capitol and is "transformed" (always to the left) within a year or two.

Brit Hume, in my opinion, was such a man. He was a shining light in the otherwise dark mainstream media. Initially, he was the face of FOX News. Sadly, over time he has become no different that all of the other talking heads. Fortunately, for Britt, he is retiring ...admitting he's burned out and no longer has a fire in his belly for political news coverage.

I’ve boycotted Faux for the most part ever since their shameful Katrina coverage. However I *used* to respect Brit Hume until I realized he’s yet another neo-conservative McCain pusher, along with Fred Barnes and Bill Kristrol. They can all go to hell.

Me too. It was all Obama before and it will definitely be all Obama now. Not my cup of tea. No more of it for me—not even Fox.

Infighting in a campaign is news.

The charges against Palin — which I reject as implausible — are that she abused a clothing allowance for the campaign and was ignorant about basic political knowledge. These claims are also news because Palin was a VP nominee, is governor of Alaska, and is now a national political figure.

The blame mongering against Palin by McCain campaign operatives is news for many conservatives because it definitively reveals that crew for the disloyal losers and jerks that they are. Finding that sort of thing out is unpleasant but worthwhile as it liberates one from illusions.

I suspect that these shots at the blue collar Palin are with the approval of McCain even though he picked her as his running mate. He is married to a deep pocket clothing and housing allowance and was shown woefully ignorant about the basics of McCain-Feingold. Keep these things in mind if you ever get to feeling sentimental about McCain or are inclined to credit him as a worthy GOP leader.

My boycott against all MSM media started over a year ago.

“I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast.” William Tecumseh Sherman
