My Glock 23C works well with both 165 gr and 180 gr ammo. Take various weights to the range and compare results with your own firearm. Make sure the hollow points feed smoothly in your firearm. My wife's Colt Commander Officer's model has a stubby feed ramp the won't free hollow points. Ball ammo works every time. Be sure your firearm feeds!

I'm confident that your box of hollow points wasn't cheap. You still need to make sure they feed. Expensive ammo that doesn't feed is worse than cheaper ammo that does feed.

Thanks for your advice, I’ll have to test it out this weekend. That’s going to seriously piss me off, if it doesn’t work. I expect problems with the Walmart whitebox ammo, but I just kind of assumed these would work perfectly.

.45 ball makes nice holes, on both sides, the in and out. But what you want is an entry wound, no exit wound and a flattened hollow point that stays inside and scrambles everything.

A good pistolsmith can solve that feeding problem easily.
