Why Isn't Obama Going or Taking His Family to Grandmother's Funeral?

Posted on 11/06/2008 8:54:27 AM PST by BlueStateBlues

If Obama loved his grandmother so much, why isn't he going to her funeral? And taking his children to see her off?

Well it sucks eating crow, but I will withdraw my comments. Can't argue with the facts.

He's still a butthead Marxist though :)

Do Muslims do funerals?

I thought the tradition was to do it within 24 hours.

He never said he loved her. Au contraire, he publicly dismissed her a a “typical white person” with racist instincts. We can just imagine what he told Michelle and the kids about her.

Was there a notice in the paper containing her obituary? They generally appear in newspapers on the Mainland but I don’t know about Hawaii????

It would be a real downer for his party time if he had to show any real emotion for his white grandmother. His little trip to see her was for the cameras.

I hope for that. He didn’t run a “brilliant” campaign. He ran a campaign in which he was at liberty to tell flat lies without any accountability in the lamestream media. He was at liberty to raise all the money he wanted from foreign donors and from a website that was designed to facilitate credit-card fraud. He is not knowledgeable or brilliant. He couldn’t even write a memoir when he had a contract to do so. He is a severely damaged, dysfunctional person. He will delegate the real, hard work of the Presidency to others. Nevertheless, I am hoping for a severe crack-up, something that manifestly disables him before he can invite the Jihadists in to start murdering Americans.

The Democrats would suffer for having nominated a psychologically fragile person for President, even if nobody cares right now about his citizenship, cocaine use, etc.

Good question. I've been wondering the same thing. Buzz it up!

Oh yeah. There certainly were numerous photos of that tear on his cheek.

I think when it was reported he was going to visit his Grandmother a couple of weeks ago, that she had died that day. And his trip over there was to attend the funeral. But they waited until this past Monday to “report” it, the day before election day, it made for a better “story”. That’s my hunch.

Obama planned his first public appearance since his presidential victory for Friday—a meeting with economic advisers to discuss the nation’s financial woes that Americans listed as their top concern on Election Day.

Obama plans to talk to the news media Friday afternoon following the meeting, aides said. He and his wife, Michelle, will visit the White House on Monday at President Bush’s invitation, aides said.

Obama’s schedule Thursday includes meetings with top U.S. intelligence officials preparing him to be commander in chief and transition team leaders tasked with building his entire administration in 10 short weeks.

Obama advisers said he was selecting the leaders of the new government with a sense of care over speed, with no plans to announce Cabinet positions this week.

Other White House officials were being lined up, including Robert Gibbs as the likely pick for press secretary, said several Obama aides. Gibbs has been Obama’s longtime spokesman and confidant and was at Obama’s side from his 2004 Senate campaign through the long days on the presidential campaign trail.

Obama planned to stay home through the weekend, with a blackout on news announcements so that he and his staff can get some rest after a grueling campaign and the rush of their win Tuesday night. He is planning a trip to Hawaii in December to get away with his family before their move to the White House—and to honor his grandmother, who died Sunday at her home there.

Obama began Thursday as he almost always does, with a workout. Later, he planned to visit with the transition team he officially announced Wednesday but had been under way for weeks. Officials had kept deliberations under wraps to avoid the appearance of overconfidence in the weeks leading to Tuesday’s election.

He also planned to head to the FBI office in Chicago, a secure location for him to receive his first president’s daily brief. The document is mostly written by the Central Intelligence Agency and includes the most critical overnight intelligence. It is accompanied by a briefing from top intelligence officials that typically lasts 45 minutes to an hour, although Obama’s first is expected to be longer.

Hussein’s paternal grandmother in Kenya still lives in poverty. His dad is buried nearby. Hussein doesn’t give a damn about her.

Nice guy.

Is that his real paternal granny, or his father’s stepmother? I’ve heard both but haven’t researched it. In either case, still a grandmother, so hopefully he’ll honor her (cold day in Hell)

Sharks would do nicely. Or he could cryofreeze her next to Ted Williams and take her out for the 2012 run.

Two fatherless damaged men for President is almost too much to bear — especially when neither have recognized by their actions and beliefs that they always had a perfect Father in Heaven.

I wouldn't be surprised if he let her die or had her killed!
I am very worried that this guy is evil. The mood in this country is one closer to pre Nazi Germany.
When can anyone remember little children placing political statements in the front windows of thier houses, or singing songs about a new president.
I would be surprised to find out that this guy is the Antichrist or at least paving the way for one. hope I’m wrong and overreacting and he will be a 1 term failure but the guys creeps me out!!!!
