Why Isn't Obama Going or Taking His Family to Grandmother's Funeral?

If Obama loved his grandmother so much, why isn't he going to her funeral? And taking his children to see her off?

many muslims celebrate death by sacrificing domestic animals - wasn’t there recent news about them getting a dog?

Don’t they just throw them into an active volcano? That would solve the back-up problem.

Grammy’s not necessary any more, and by 2012 no one will remember, especially the MSM.

I think that his grandparents were not religious people in any way. What is the term for parents of red diaper babies? I imagine if there is a service, it would be a memorial and nothing religious so there would not be any time frame in which to hold a memorial.
He comes from a background that does not honor life in the traditional Judeo-Christain sense. It is one reason that he is able to take the stands that he does on abortion. There is an emotional and spiritual detachment with him that I find very disturbing.

Also, I found it odd that a man who just made history showed no emotion during his victory speech. Didn’t shed a tear. Read a prepared speech from the teleprompter right up until the end. People in the crowds showed more emotion than he did. It seems to me that someone who supposedly achieved such a milstone would be be able to speak a few words from the heart.

He didnt even mention her in the acceptance speech & she had just died the nite before! Yep, real class has arrived at the WH. too bad it's all LOW.

I think we should leave this alone, it’s a personal family matter.
Most people today are cremated. A memorial service can be held at any time and place of the family’s choosing.
My mother died in the Chicago area in January ‘00. Because of weather there and travel involved for family members, the memorial was held in April.
