Rahm needs to be tagged with a divisive nickname. It has to be something that will demonize him before the public and be easily remembered.

It would be unwise to go after the Fauxmessiah directly but demonize his choices first.

Any suggestions?

LOL. Your non sequiturs are amusing. I don’t want someone who volunteered for the IDF in 1991 to work on a Israeli army base to be in such a critical position as WH COS. He has divided loyalties and will be privy to very sensitive information. It doesn’t matter whether it is Israel or any other country if the circumstances were the same.

Well, we better make sure there are no Fundamentalist Protestants in the White House then. They have this silly idea that the Will of the Creator of the Universe comes before all else, including country.

Me thinks that the "enforcer" has Ballerina Boy's complex.

It's akin to Short Man's Complex.

Poor Rahm. He suffers from both.

Rahm Emanuel's' Modern Orthodox Rabbi's CV He has studied more about Mohammed than HaShem.

Just a courtesy ping to those directed to the post.

My opinion only, but this isn't a productive line of criticism.

I see nothing to criticize about belonging to a Modern Orthodox congregation. I've never heard anything negative about them, I may know members but I confuse them with Anshe Emet, a Conservative congregation a couple blocks away. There's nothing at all there.

His Rabbi studied Arab culture and foreign relations? Condi Rice is an expert on Russia, that doesn't imply a sympathy with communism. There's nothing in the Rabbi's academic experience, or in the congregation, to be of any concern.

Rahm is a Chicago political hack, an extraordinarily gifted one, who is not to be underestimated. In Congress his policy positions seem to have been a bit under the radar, but when he advocates positions, there will be plenty to criticize. But he's not attending a Jewish version of Rev. Wright, and I don't see any relevance in his religious choices or affiliations at all.

As you know, we've completely taken over now.

On a daily basis here on FR you'll see the cry of disloyal Jewbastard.

Just how things are.

Rahm Emanuel, who has been chosen by Barack Obama to be the White House chief of staff, is known by colleagues as "Rahmbo" - a nickname

This stunted ex-ballerina is probably all of 5 feet 6 inches
It will be a good cop bad cop routine where Emmanuelle plays the heavy when people can't get access to pretty boy Obama. Who will stay above the fray

You have to be careful on here apparantly there are alot of people who believe that liberal Jews, who vote in the same percentage as blacks for democrats

No question that Emmanuel is liberal, though not as liberal as Obama. There are some other interesting points about him in that he has defended Israel, and his father was in the Irgun, so it may be that this will lead to Israel's survival. By the way, he graduated from Sarah Lawrence College. Otherwise he was a shark.

Yes, but not all. My point was that it's stupid issue to raise in a political context.

Read the article. They give the reason he’s so intense, at least according to his mother.

I’d be inclined to disagree. In my administration, I’d certainly have an office for a guy like him, because every White House needs a bagman, but I’m not sure I would want it to be the Chief of Staff. From my understanding, the CoS serves as the gatekeeper to the president and his closest advisor. I’d want someone with a little more substantial gravitas sitting in that chair, and even a tad bit of diplomacy. Emanuel has neither of those traits.

This is not criticism, it is simply a line of inquiry.

What is Modern Orthodoxy ? It seems like an oxymoron to me.

The comparison to Dr. Rice is neither germane nor productive.

I would not study under a Rabbi who had spent years studying the ways of the Evil One: haSatan.

I would seek out someone who had spent his time studying about the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Israel: HaShem.

You can find some sites on the web that will describe MO, like everything there are gradations, but essentially they're Shabbos and Kashrut observant, more observant than Conservative. But more likely wearing designer clothes and colored kipas and probably willing to eat tuna in a non-kosher restaurant.

This being a political forum, and Chief of Staff being a political position, my point was that this is a silly thing to be criticizing Rahm on. IMO, he's vulnerable on numerous policy positions, as is his boss. Though at this point it may be necessary to wait for proposals, because like Clinton, everything promised to get elected is history.
