IS THIS THE ONE?

CAN Bobby Jindal remove "EXCALIBUR" from the rock of the republican party and lead us to the promise land in 2012?

YOU decide: http://www.ontheissues.org/House/Bobby_Jindal.htm

If they start talking about and hyping him now, the American people are going to be on overload by the time 2012 rolls around.

Might be good to have him on the bottom of the ticket behind Palin

Theoretically yes, but what are Palins chances up against Obama? My point is if it might seem like a losing ticket, I would rather wait to put Jindal in in 2016. If it seems like a good shot, then 2012.

I disagree. Palin would’ve been a fine presidential candidate in calmer times before Obama’s presidency. But now, we will have to have someone with extraordinary organizational capabilities like Newt or Jindal to undue as much of Obama’s agenda as possible. Palin just is not there yet. Every day after Obama is defeated is a precious day to get our liberties back. So we need someone in there who can start rolling back big government Day 1 in 2012 or 2016.

Here I thought Sarah Palin was our new conservative leader. Have we thrown her under the conservative bus that quick?

putting one’s hope in one person is a futile strategy. The Pubes need to rebuild with people that have a common goal and coherent strategy. IT’s more than about one person though I do agree having a conservative leader who can articulate a conservative idea and influence others is a good starting point

Obama was hyped for four years and look what happened.

I think Sarah has a great shot, but she needs to reintroduce herself to America on HER terms.

Unfortunate that she got her start with the loser McCain campaign. She’d have been better off just running in 2012 as an unknown Gov.

Yes, plus let’s not make him an MSM target this early on.

"In August 2007, at least through his campaign materials, then-Congressman Bobby Jindal promised voters that he would, as governor, “prohibit Legislators from giving themselves pay raises that take effect before the subsequent election.” Despite the pledge of less than a year ago, the Republican governor now says he won't veto a bill that increases lawmakers' salaries to $37,500, from $16,800. The Senate on Monday approved the House-backed compromise bill, and while Jindal has spoken out against the increase he's also vowed not to veto the largest legislative boost in nearly 30 years. “I will keep my pledge to let them govern themselves and make their own decisions as a separate branch of government,” Jindal said in a news release."

Just another motor mouth, telling the unwashed what they want to hear.

FWIW, it’s “cry havoc,” not “wreak havoc.” :)

Before the Republican Party starts looking at anyone, they need to get their act together and realize what went wrong with this election. They need to look in the mirror first.

Jindal nearly blew his chance when at first he said
he was going to support the pay raise of the LA “Civil
Masters”, when he ran against the raises.

He came to his senses when he was given so much flack
over this issue.

I agree with you. I have several Repub friends who are well educated women that thought twice about voting McCain after he chose Palin, They felt she was weak. As much as I like her character (I attended her rally in BG, Ohio) I am not sure she is yet presidential material. It will take several years before she is ready, especially to take on this man who has so much evil backing him.

I agree. Right or wrong, with the media on his side Obama has 4 years to blame Bush for the current state of affairs so more than likely, he’ll be in there for 8. Jindal will only be 46 in 2016 and will have had 8 years to get his name out there.

Please, let the voting machines cool off for a time before we start down this road...everyone will have Jindal fatigue before Christmas of this year.

No one knows where we are going to be in 2012, and starting all this hoopla right now just sends signals of desparation to the libs.

Let's sit back for a couple of years and watch obama "adjust expectations" as his regime tries to pay back all the "favors" he owes for a $600-million campaign; it will do us a lot more good to watch him spit and sputter to a halt, rather than trying to figure out how to outrun him.

He has the momentum right now - people are "politics-weary" from the last two years, and we all need a break. We're going to be busy for a while trying to figure out how to function under quasi-socialism, without worrying about posturing a candidate right now.

To borrow a phrase, "You never know what the tide is going to bring in tomorrow.". We may find a real superstar sometime in 2010 or 2011 who is even more exciting than Jindal.

Every horse is not necessarily a race horse...right McCain?

I’m from Louisiana and people were PISSED about the possible pay raise, so in the end Jindal did veto the initiative. It was a learning experience for him, but people seemed to forgive him after he came to his senses on this issue.

Gosh, I couldn't have written this any better. STOP the 2012 candidate talk. Mad-as-hell has it EXACTLY right, it's not about a person right now, it's about a set ideas and principles. We need to get this sorted out so we don't find ourselves right back into another McCain debacle.

Please please Freepers, hold off on the candidate selection. We've got plenty of time for that ahead of us.
