I think what you were seeing is the Obama trolls leaving now that their work is done.

Relax. A bit of catharsis after a debacle like the election is to be expected. I’ve been around here a LONG time (not so long as some, but still a goodly length). This happens with every “signficant emotional event” that occurs in politics. It’ll subside on its own in a few days.

Things happen when conservatives finally realize that they were campaigning and voting for JOHN McCAIN. It can be a shock to the system.

Many of them are Obama trolls, but they're not leaving of their own accord. Some long time members have gotten the boot as well.

I gotta disagree with you just a bit here, VaBthang4.
It's natural for people here on FR to feel a need to vent a little after such a sorry-@ss election . . . that culminated one of the most pathetic presidential election seasons of my lifetime.
But there have definitely been some (really) good and (really) bad vanity posts here in the last couple of days . . .
The one where someone suggested that President Bush could "rescue his legacy" by having all government documents related to UFOs declassified was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen here.
The one where someone posted a thread titled "Atlas Barfed" and simply announced that he was going to bed and would be back again tomorrow was one of the funniest things I've read here in a while. LOL.

and know that there is no such word as ‘’Allot’’.
Except there is such a
word, my friend. The word, however, was used incorrectly by the original poster. So, your original point stands.

What about those of us whom wish to conserve the proper use of the written English language...may WE stay? Personally, Id like to see postings from those whom know how to properly use commas, dont begin fragmentented sentences with conjunctive words like And or But, will use ly adverbs, and know that there is no such word as Allot. That was a joke, right?
You incorrectly used "whom" for "who" (twice); you incorrectly used single quotation marks when you should have used double quotation marks (four times); you incorrectly used an ellipsis; you split an infinitive; you misspelled a word; you capitalized a few words unnecessarily; you misplaced a comma outside a quotation mark; and you misplaced a period outside a quotation mark.
And by the way, there is such a word as "allot."
Other than that, I'm right behind ya!

Now that McCain is gone, I think you'll see a return to roots, so to speak. The threat of an Obama Nation and McCain being the only opposition made me and many others campaign for him out of necessity, like watching a superbowl and having your least favorite team go against the overwhelming favorite you can't stand. It was tough from a conservative's point of view as McCain was only slightly better than Obama as Ann Coulter recently pointed out so well, but better for the country.
The republican party has been a loss for conservatism before and after Reagan, but if conservatism is to have any national voice, the GOP has been it and if republicans are going to win again, they'd better return to Conservatism. But for now, the Republican brand name is ruined.
McCain and his abysmal campaign, my friends, is gone. Bush and the free spending republicans have dug up much of the foundation poured by Reagan and have the losses to show for it. There is now a true enemy of the Republic in power and sooner or later enough people will see that. What the population needs is a clear, articulate conservative message to counter the other side.
Other than a few on talk radio, there are no voices in the socialist wilderness to show the way and to say out loud what so many know in their hearts. Sarah Palin was our only voice in this election. There must be others and we must find them or become them.
