Chris Matthews: “Our Job (Journalists)Is To Make This Presidency Work” [Update at # 66]
MSNBC-Morning Joe Show | November 6th, 2008 | Eyewitness

Posted on 11/06/2008 5:36:27 AM PST by icwhatudo

"Morning Joe" show on MSNBC had Joe Scarborough talking to Chris Mathews about "amateur hour"-the Rahm Emmanual decision to "think about" taking the chief of staff position offered by Obama. Joe felt this should have been worked out long ago and is not something to be offered and then "thought about" out in public. Chris Mathews was upset at the criticism saying “Our Job (Journalists)Is To Make This Presidency Work”.

Joe immediately went after Mathews but Mathews held his ground talking about how in the world we live in right now it is of the utmost importance that this government succeed. Even Mika and a reporter from Time magazine jumped on Mathews for the comment, talking about how the media's job was in Crokite's words to be "skeptical so the public would not be cynical."

Mathews still would not back down so Joe ended the segment by sarcastically saying it was "so nice" that the media didn't question the government in dangerous times like during the Iraq war, not questioning Rumsfelds actions and not second guessing Bush's motives.

A wise Freeper said yesterday that Obama IS THE MSM’s candidate and we should hang that around his neck for the next 4 years. The American people hate the MSM now...lol. Their approval ratings are lower than the democrat congress!

I agree. Now Chris Matthews and other liberal journalists can quit their jobs and work for Obama. This will open up a bunch of jobs for people that actually want to report the news in the MSM.

I'm watching the MSM transform before my eyes and ears from rabid attack dogs to pod people.

The Germans did not elect Hitler. He was appointed Chancellor by President Hindenburg. After he consolidated power my getting Hindenburg to declare a “state of emergency” he basically had the power of the state to control the “election.”

Chrissy was talking about “crackle” this morning. The late R.W. “Johnny” Apple talked about electricity crackling in Clintons pressed blue jeans after his first election. The masks are really coming off big time.

A friend of mine said it perfectly - the biggest loser on Tuesday wasn’t the GOP, it was the media....people now know exactly what they are (if there was any question before) and know that everything they “report” is tinged (or glares) with their love of the Dims and their bias and hatred towards everyone else who may have an R after their names. My big hope now is that Perkey Katie gets the boot - I don’t watch CBS (or ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC....well you get the drift) except for The Price is Right and my soaps...so occasionally her grinning dumba$$ face appears on the screen, at which time I immediately hit “mute” - as I will for the next 4 years everytime Hussein’s voice is being heard!

I usually hit mute as well or change the channel but this morning I decided to flip around the morning shows to see what they were up to and what a giddy ‘ Obama love fest’ it was...lol.

Obama is a seriously flawed man and the media now has a full time job ahead of them to prop him up for the next 4 years.

At this point, Obama’s radical past is not the only thing that should concern us. He is probably the most intellectually, emotionally and spiritually impaired candidate we have ever elected to the office of the President. I don’t think he is up to the job.

At least in the old regimes the ministry of propaganda paid hacks to write their junk. I don't know that we've seen a free press willingly become the propaganda arm of a regime.

Talk Radio and the internet, for all its tendentiousness, has turned out to be a better and more even-handed source for news. Traditional media realizes they are bleeding out watchers / readers and is trying to cling to a liberal audience.

After this election everyone realizes what they've done and they have no credibility. People of a certain persuasion may still enjoy seeing their prejudices reinforced in impressive columns of ink and the utterances of news personalities, but no one will necessarily believe them anymore.

On the bright side at least we no longer have to say it is “Bushs fault” we can now say it is “Zeros fault”.
