Whatever Chris Matthews may be, he isn’t a journalist.

There's no such thing as an indispensable useful idiot.

Zero is too stupid, too stuck on himself, and too flat-out bugnuts to see how he's being played by some very very smart and profoundly nasty interests. He thinks he's their equal, when in fact he means even less to them than the gentlemen (not) and ladies (hah!) of the press do to him.

And once he's been "installed" at 1600, he'll skate for a while -- months even, maybe. But the presidency has a way of stripping men down to their core character, and for him it'll happen sooner rather than later. When he realizes he's light-years out of his league, promoted vastly beyond his meager abilities, and never allowed too far from his handlers' watchdogs, he'll crack.

At which point the people pulling his strings will shake their heads regretfully, tut-tut wistfully, and remind themselves that every movement needs a martyr...

Chris you helped elect an inexperienced car salesman. Good luck the markets real slow out there for used or new cars.

Actually the Germans did elect Hitler.

Under their system of parliamentary democracy, you vote for parties rather than people.

Hitler’s NAZI party won the largest vote total in the election, giving him 230 out of the 680 seats.

But Hindengurg had won the Presidency, so in order to avoid a 4th congressional election in 4 months, he offered Hitler the Chancellor post to try to create a ruling coalition.

Didn’t work out so good for Hindenburg.

You have a point, but the NAZI’S lost seats in the election prior to Hitler being appointed.

“Chrissy, your job is to REPORT the news, not MAKE it.”

MS-DNC has been a complete whorish shill operation for the Democrats.

I say we keep raising a stink about them, and let the MSNBC staffers fight it out. Brokaw and others were aghast at the shilling by Chrissie and Olbie. Brokaw may be biased but he has standards.

You are correct.

The July 31, 1932 election produced the 230 Reichstag seats I referred to earlier.

In the November 6, 1932 election, the NAZI’s lost 2 million votes and 34 seats.

However, the NAZI’s still received more votes than any other party.

Hindenburg probably should have pushed for a couple more elections given how that worked out. ;)

IT will be interesting to hear Mathews campaign. As I understand it, the family backgroung is all Vietnam age males with nobody man enough to serve in uniform; I wonder if dad dodged military service as well.
