Here’s why: Because the corporation issuing the contract is bankrupt. No one will sign a contract from the GOP. It’s not even a national party anymore.

We had a choice between democrat and democrat-lite . Given a real choice I believe we can win again.

constitution doesn’t say anything about a balanced budget or what the tax system should look like

No, the Constitution does not specifically reference a balanced budget or a specific tax system, but the part about a limited Federal gubmint should be a huge clue to anyone willing to pay attention to it....

There's no point.

you still need more specifics. The biggest problem is that most americans just don’t care about the constitution anymore.

Impossible.

More than half the people want the government to take care of them.
The rest want the government to just leave them alone.

I think if the truth was known about how many Freepers get government benefits, it would choke a horse.

I sense that conservitives are going to do major house cleaning by working to go back to their roots by modeling after Reagan.

Yep, that, and an utter lack of historical perspective. On both counts I place the fault at the feet of the gubmint indoctrination centers, er, uh, I mean publik skools....

“constitution doesn’t say anything about a balanced budget or what the tax system should look like”

I know what a balanced budget is, I would hope those that are elected would also.

Tax system, there should be no tax system. /s

I understand that govt needs operating cash but present tax system is a bit broken.

The Constitution is the only “contract with American” that any political party needs to succeed...

The constitution had an amendment added to it that gave the federal government free reign to take all the income it desires, no limit. They promised it would be tiny it order to pass it but it has been like a cancerous growth on this great nation and we got a taste of just how bad that tumor is November 4th. Time to cure the cancer , not just elect another smiling face.

The term itself is already too politically soiled thanks to the RINOs.

It should be abundantly clear that the majority of Americans do not vote FOR leaders... They vote AGAINST them!

They don't care what promises are made, because they don't expect the promises to be kept. This is because if Americans have learned anything from politics, they have learned that ALL politicians lie just to get into office.

They don't care about experience or historical precedence on party platform. They care about appearances and appeasement.

They dont care about our constitution, because most don't even know what is in it, and more importantly why it exists at all. American voters today are simply not aware of the fragility of freedom, and they just overwhelmingly voted for the largest contract AGAINST America in it's 200+ year history.

Our battle is NOT about selling party policies to the American public... It's about teaching America what freedom is, why we have it, and what it takes to keep it. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans have taken their freedoms for granted, and now it is time for them to pay the price for their ignorance and complacency.

Republicans simply need to shut the hell up, get the hell out of the way, and be prepared to once again step in to clean up the mess after the democrats screw it all up.

CONTRACTS???... hell no.... TEACH PRINCIPLES!

ok first of all: no more amendments.

Prohibition was a mistake and then undone. The Income tax needs a similar cure.

Hey,Jim Robinson, what do you think about adding the ability to vote comments and stories up and down?

What do the folks think?

I really wish to click up for this story, many times.
This would after some time give us a clear picture of what folks are thinking?

For right here, right now I hope there will be vocal and active support for the aptly named

Project Leper

Outing and casting into oblivion the dirty, scum sucking, cowardly, traitors from inside McCain’s campaign who are attacking Palin.

See here:

http://choosethehero.com/mccain-palin-updates/operation-leper

The lovely and serious Michelle Malkin is on this case,so it is going to move,I would say:

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/11/05/the-mccain-campaigns-classless-cowards/

I am both angry and disappointed about this.
The basic Ignorance of Mr Reagan’s first rule,to start.
Plus it is further proof of the depth of Mr McCain’s
failure.
To have people of this low character around him,to lose control of this the way he did...?

I am angry and disappointed,and
I want some proverbial blood on the floor.
Public excoriation and humiliation
for these people is in order.
