The McCain Classless Cowards
Michelle Malkin ^ | 11/05/08 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 11/06/2008 3:38:47 AM PST by DocT111

The anonymous trashing of Sarah Palin by blabbermouth McCain aides who are leaking to Fox News is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

Allah’s got the vid clip of a report citing unnamed McCain staffers accusing Palin of lacking, in Carl Cameron’s words, “knowledgeability.” More slime here. And here.

At least all the Hollywood and Manhattan Palin-haters were willing to sign their names and put their faces on their attacks.

Let’s assume the rumor-mongers are telling the truth for a moment. Who does it damn more: Sarah Palin or McCain and his vetters who green-lighted her for the vice presidential nomination? Don’t need an Ivy League degree to figure that one out.

Sarah Palin worked her heart out. She energized tens of thousands to come out who would have otherwise stayed home. She touched countless families. I didn’t agree with everything she said on the campaign trail. But two fundamental conservative stands she took mattered greatly to me: She vigorously defended the Second Amendment and the sanctity of life more eloquently in practice than any of the educated conservative aristocracy.

And she did it all with a tirelessness and infectious optimism that defied the shameless, bottomless attempts by elites in both parties to bring her and her family down.

Shame on the smearers who don’t have the balls to show their faces.

Thank you, Sarah Palin. Thank you for stepping up the plate and serving your country.

Schmidt’s the one who pushed for McCain to choose Palin.

All these stories are BS!

If she was so bad, why did the RNC have the highest ratings ever?

Why did 70 million people watch her debate vs. Biden?

Why SNL had the highest rating in 14 years when she appeared?

Palin is the average person going into politics to make a difference. Her record is a record of many achievements in a short amount of time. Palin would have beaten Obama.

What you have are some incompetent McCain advisors trying to shift the blame from themselves, who know they do not have a role in any future Palin campaign, and shouldnt have a role in any future Republican campaign.

John McCain lost the election because he discounted the new world in which the election was held.

It is obvious that he lost because the Obama campaign had the deciding advantage of new voters in sufficient numbers in the exact places required to produce the win.

Although the effect of the Acorn registration effort of fraudulent voters is not known, the fact is the effort was effective and did the job.

Nothing Palin did or did not do could have overcome this effort. The middle McCain was after simply wasn’t there.

Not only am I pissed off at the “anonymous McCain aides,” I’m REALLY disappointed at Carl Cameron for reporting this tripe. This has no more credibility than the “anonymously sourced” rumors that Obama is gay.

McCain was chosen by the country club elites in both parties as a bookend for this election, knowing he had no chance to beat the ONE.

Many of these elites are members at the Council on Foreign Relations who desire a Socialist, on world government. (and bank) Barry is the candidate THEY'VE been waiting for.

Correct.

And if we don't call BS on these ridiculous rumors RIGHT NOW, the next phase will be , “Everyone knows what Sarah Palin did in the ‘08 campaign.”

That's why it's so vital that WE ON”T TAKE THE BAIT!!!

These stories don't pass the smell test.

I certainly intend to work towards that goal.

Where can I contact Palin???

I am disgusted at these lowlives and at John McCain - perhaps he deserved to loose. The BEST things about him was he was not Barack Obama and he had Sarah Palin.

Carl Cameron is a prick for airing that story. O’Reilly picked Cameron apart a little bit, but he should have ripped him a new one. Carl did NOTHING to get Palin’s side of the story. He relied solely on backstabbing little anonymous weasels who wish to destroy Palin’s future. Moderate GOP’s have destroyed the party and continue to do so.

no no no, we need a conservative caucus INSIDE the republican party.

we have misc. ethnic caucuses inside the party. (the homosexuals have put a mole caucus inside the republican party)

If people would quit their whining we could even have a FreeRepublic.com caucus inside the republican party.

(we can do a Freeps away cruise but we can’t get enough people together inside the republican party?)

BTW the third parties were not even a BLIP on election day. most did not even break 1000.

which energized an otherwise moribund and apathetic conservative voting base.

And your proof of this is what???

Well, for one thing, prior to Sarah's joining the ticket, Sad Grandpa wasn't drawing crowds even remotely like this:

"Moderate" Republicans demanded (and were given) carte blanche opportunity to demonstrate, once and for all, that they knew how to win at the national level, this year.

They got exactly the candidate they wanted. They got exactly the party platform they demanded. The campaign was run exactly the way they insisted it be run.

How'd that end up working out for us, again...?

They actually managed to lose to a one-term Senate Marxist with open and unapologetic terrorist ties. The ONLY thing I want to hear from Team McCain or any of its shrill little online apologists, from this day forward, is a meek and contrite: "We're sorry."

They have nothing else worthwhile what. so. EVER. to contribute to any meaningful discussion, re: either conservatism or winning electoral strategies.

They've shown they know how to lose, and lose badly. Now it's time for the conservative base to show them how to win again; and Sarah Palin is going to be the teacher.

I’d agree with you. But the left sees her as a threat. Which she is. They will continue their character assassination campaign.

As will the Rockefeller Republicans.
