So the Dems stole enough votes to take that last county?
RINOs away!
You idiot !
We need the filbuster !
That's not the modern day Republican Party I know.
Here is latest from ABC Spwews website
Senate (last updated: 11-05-08 9:43 PM EST) Precincts Reporting 78%
Brownlow (C) 77,132 5%
Merkley (D) 674,173 48%
Smith (R) 668,044 47%
Oh, please, that is the first thing McCain will give away if the media will just start printing, "We love you, Johnny!" again.
WE need everyone we can get !
He has a 70 % conservative rating !
What are talking about ??
WE need the filibuster !!!!
It is tru that the called it on RCP
Don’t understand how given that only 70 percent is in
Something stinks and this loss hurts.
In March 2007, Smith was one of only two Republicans to vote for a resolution aimed at withdrawing most American combat troops from Iraq in 2008, the other being Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. The vote was 50 for to 48 against. Smith said in July 2007 that he would vote for a bill authorizing a timeline in which to leave Iraq. He was one of three Republican senators, the other two being Hagel and Olympia Snowe of Maine, to support the Levin Amendment (S.AMDT.2085) to the 2008 Defense Authorization bill (H.R.1585) that would begin a withdrawal of US forces from Iraq. Nice Republican uh?
Its the same voter scam pulled in Wash .
the large leftist urban areas waits to see how many votes they need !
I thought we already have it.
I agree. I also know that the Dims will only have to find a "Gang of 6" or so to "heal" the "divided" government and "get to work for the people", and all that garbage...
Do you know if the GOP heads and Bush WH let him do that so he could relected ???
He voted against the BAILOUT !
SO do we just want to give up NOW and let the radical socialist fo unchecked !!!
SO do we just want to give up NOW and let the radical socialist go unchecked !!!
no apparently Portland is slowly counting its votes .
Look, it's wimps like this that have helped to give us 0.
Even if he were reelected, we still won't have the votes for a filibuster. On almost any issue (with this group) there would be defections.
Aside from that, if Democrats didn't get their way, why wouldn't they just change the Senate rules regarding the number of votes for a filibuster?
