Really? So how would you describe this, the third comment from the top:
"Sarah Palin is being treated unjustly and maliciously by these so-called religious people. I used to respect Mormons."
“Today, Red State ran an article on the origination of nasty lies from within the McCain/Palin camp. They report, Romney staffers now working on the McPalin campaign have been spreading the stories of Palins ineptitude to the press. Red State and other reporters accuse Romney staffers, including Kevin Madden (former Romney press-man) of pushing reporters into Troopergate stories and other possible negative Palin story angles. Palin provides a threat to Romney for a presidential run, but now is not the time for in-party fighting.”
I wouldn’t be surprised, although I hate to go off on a story until it is confirmed.
The Republican party needs to get back to the things that made it appealing to voters. Romney is not part that change. The party needs to be purged of people like him.
1. Conservatives (about 99.9875% ~ otherwise called "the base")
2. RINOs ~ Republicans in Name Only ~ not necessarily Democrats, but outside the mainstream, these guys are popular or charismatic in their homestates and when in office can serve as "placeholders" for party organization, sometimes even helping turn the Democrats into a non-governing minority.
3. Countryclubbers ~ usually wealthy people, maybe lawyers and doctors, who have "some time" to get involved in party organization activities ~ setting up campaigns, recruiting candidates, etc. Many pay their own way.
In recent years Republican narrow margins of control have put the RINOs in the position of controllng the direction legislation will take ~ much to the distress of "the base". Democrats suffered the Democat equivalent of these guys for years as "Blue Dog Democrats". They've snuffed most of them.
Countryclubbers are welcome at the party operations and organization level but they really ought to stay out of the party philosophy and theory levels. Since they're rich and/or bright people with something to add, they are frequently tolerated, but not when it comes to telling folks what "we believe".
Romney is kind of a base man with RINO leanings and a supporting staff of authentic but very dangerous countryclubbers who go off the reservation to attack Holy Rollers and Catholics.
Not quite sure what we ought to do about Romney since it's usually not a smart idea to purge former Governors.
Which reminds me, maybe Romney's supporters could be reminded that we haven't been kicking their Governor out so leave ours alone eh.
There, that's settled. We can all get along together now.
Send money!
Mitt Romney reminds me of George Hamilton.
Marxism in the name of Jesus.
Hamilton’s a better actor.
Yeah...and a better color. (paranoid)
McCain’s campaign was not well run which was distressing when we tried to give the campaign a lot of names but no takers but by the same token I know where the leaks were coming from against Palin. If you think that I believe some paid Romney people wanted McCain/Palin to win then I have swampland for sale in AZ. That is not the people that supported Romney or volunteered. I am talking paid staffers that undermined Sarah Palin and continue to do so with their sniping.
Know all about how Romney’s people undermined other campaigns — funny when you all get together and compare notes you see a pattern.
Good if Romney never runs for office again so maybe he will call off the dogs against Sarah Palin. By this time he has to know who is behind it if the rest of us do.
Ok, You got one. It’s weak but it does mention Mormons. That’s hardly a pogram against Mormons and a hysterical comparsion to what Jews gone through. Come back when the State opens the camps for Mormons.
I think, by sabotaging McCain/Palin by Romney and his smitten mittens gave the Presidency to Obama and therefore working for the enemy.
At the risk of angering some Mitt fans here who I respect, I agree with this article.
But, there were others, as well. Time will tell.
I think Jim Robinson should purge FreeRepublic of ALL Romneybots !!
ping
Post the list please.
I only voted for McCain because he picked Palin. She has the future.
yep, add Michael Savage to that list too.
He was a Romney supporter who was VICIOUS about Palin the first week or two after she was announced.
