Much of the Arab press, as well as ordinary people in the street, are rejoicing over the election of Democrat Barak Obama as the next president of the United States. Nevertheless, as Edward Yeranian reports from Cairo, there are misgivings in certain quarters.
People on the streets here in Cairo, and across much of the Arab world, appear elated by the election of Democrat Barak Obama as the next president of the United States, despite some apprehension in the Gulf and in Lebanon.
Commentators on Al-Jazeera TV, which has consistently criticized the outgoing Bush administration for its policies towards the Arab world, appeared almost jubilant over Mr. Obama's election, with many hailing the results of the election as a "positive for the Arab world."

Our Arab friends are also no doubt elated that the stock market fell 500 points today in reaction to Obama’s election.
Yup......and watch oil prices go out of site.
The cheering will stop once they learn that Rahm Emmanuel is Obamas chief of staff.

Rahm Emanuel served in the IDF during the Gulf War. No doubt he holds an Israeli as well as an American passport.
Our enemies cheering should send shivers down the spine of ever honest genuine “red blooded American” (And no, the idiots who voted for Obama don’t count). Our enemies are cheering because now they’ll be able to advance their agenda without any interference from us. God’s Word is being fulfilled before our very eyes.
This election is America's political 911 and it will lead to more homeland attacks. No wonder the Arabs are cheering. Obama is one of them. He'll facilitate the demise of our country, undermine our military and cripple our economy even more.
