These Marines were with PFC Jimmy Widener, a young man from my town, when they were shot down. Jimmy was buried in Arlington back in Nov. 2006:
PFC James Edward Widener
I'm glad that their remains were found and identified and that they're coming home. It's good that the families will have closure.

I graduated from Greece Arcadia in June '66 and joined the Marine Corps in August. Jim Widener and I might have crossed paths in a few places like boot camp or advanced infantry training. Semper Fi ... You might have crossed paths. The Churchville-Chili Class of 1966 made a memorial for Jimmy after his remains were found and it was dedicated in July 2007. It's above the stadium. Jimmy was an athlete, soccer (an intregal player on the CCHS Section V Champion team in the Fall of 1965), wrestling and track. He had a full ride to UB but opted to serve his country. Here's a link to the Chili town blog about the Memorial dedication ceremony, it was very moving.
Local Marine James E. Widener Garden of Recognition was dedicated on Saturday
My big brother was in the Class of '66 at McQuaid and my cousin was also Class of '66 at Bishop Kearney.
