Very sad news. He wrote real page turners, but they actually had some thought behind them. State of Fear is simple, fast-moving, readable, opinionated but not preachy, and altogether a truly excellent, thought provoking book (and it has a great ending...).

Michael Crichton book’s made me understand the use of the term ‘page turner’.

It was amazing how educational his books were on their subjects as well as entertaining.
