Prolific novelist and "ER" creator Michael Crichton has passed away. He was 66.

Perhaps best known for being the author of Jurassic Park and its sequel The Lost World, which were turned into a hugely successful movie franchise, his numerous books have sold over 150 million copies worldwide.

In what his family calls an unexpected death, it was revealed that he was waging a private battle against cancer.

Will our president elect attend the funeral to make sure to collect the “estate tax” and redistribute them to more deserving souls?

LOL....that’s the only reason he would do...I wonder if he’ll tax his Granny’s money with the same vigor.

Of course he will. Communists are cold-hearted and inherently evil.

What more could a typical white person expect as their last testimony in life.

What a loss. A very bright, very talented, intellectually honest guy who kept his humanity. In some ways he reminded me of Richard Feynman, one of Crichton's heroes.

My favorite Crichton book is his autobiographical Travels. Among other things he discusses his medical career, dating, British psychics, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, being charged by a mountain gorilla, and directing Sean Connery.

R.I.P.

I'll miss him.

I have to wonder though ...

... if we invested as much in miniaturization technology as we do in schools and playgrounds and nuclear weapons and things like that, if Michael couldn't have been with us a few more years ...

Prayers for his family.

First Tony Hillerman a few days ago and now Michael Crichton. Two of my favorites gone.

Crichton’s style ranked up there with Richard Feynman’s.

I gave “State of Fear” to several high school science teachers when I would visit for career day and give a talk to 10th graders on science and engineering careers, complete with exploding windmills, spent nuclear fuel pools and global temp curves depicting the superstition of man-made global warming.

It is truly sad to see him go. Visit his web site and read some of his fine speeches, complete with charts.

Rest in peace Dr. Crichton and may your family be comforted. We will continue to quote you and enjoy your writings, but the absence of a principled and thoughtful scientist like yourself leaves a vacuum in today’s age of unreason.

He and James P. Hogan had taken on the old Asimov role of popularizers of science. A great loss. RIP.

Prayers up for his family and friends - may he rest in peace. I enjoyed many of his creations (esp. Jurassic Park, and the early seasons of ER).

Good, punch away.....until your finger drops off.

Don’t you realize that everybody dies when they decide it’s time? No, probably not.

Keep punching, it’s a worthwhile endeavor. A communist has just been elected to run this country and you’re worried about this....shame on you.

He died of a seizure when he suddenly realized that real life is much, much stranger than fiction.

This very sad and a very great loss to all. What stunned me is that he was only 66 years old. Think of all he achieved in those 66 years. I hope the end was peaceful and that his family will be comforted by the fact that he led such a fulfilled life.

I read it. One of the books I read in the last 10 years where I literally pushed it on my liberal friends faces. I was later excommunicated from the clique but who cares.

I actually do know that. I lost a friend to a heart attack that he had while driving. He could have survived, but the medical staff said he just gave up.

Your comment was way out of line. I think you knew that.
