Then the people saying such, have got to be the dumbest people on the planet. The twisted logic you have to employ to believe that, has got to make those peoples brains look like a pretzel.
I believe Bush failed to explain to the American people in clear,compelling terms why we invaded Iraq.Bush angered conservatives by lax immigration policies.Bush's Homeland Security Department and its policies angered everybody. McCain's comment that we might have troops in Iraq for many years was not popular. Sadly,the nation's farmers care more about crop subsidies than anything else;American agriculture has been socialized since FDR.And most of the farmers seem to love it. Union workers also blame Republicans for factory jobs lost ,even though NAFTA was truly a non-partisan act.(of economic suicide).
McCain foolishly limited his own campaign with the MCCain-Feingold program.MCCain insisted on playing nice ,yet was villified as running a negative campaign.
“Bush won whites 65-34, McCain won then 54-45. I have no idea how to explain a 20 pt shift in the white vote of a state that has been rock solid GOP for 50 years and even voted against FDR for god’s sake. It doesn’t really make any sense.
White women in particular went from +31 for Bush to only +3 for McCain. Again, hard to really figure”
Now contrast the lossess from the overall white vote with the losses from the white women vote and you have a scenario
I have been worried about for a while.
The Dem’s run a campaign on issues that directly speak to women’s hearts who are literally wined and dined emotionally. A certain number of other-wise conservative women are going to succomb to such rogue-ish ministrations, particularly when your own party is coming across like a dorky Mr. Magoo character as opposed to a Indiana Jones sort of guy. These women are often married to conservative men but would never dream of telling their mates who they voted for...”it might get him just so upset...”.

I looked at the “Atlas Shrugged” county-by-county maps. In Indiana, the region, Indianapolis and all the college towns went for Obama.
People kept saying it couldn’t happen.
